The Belfast School of Speech & Drama Est 1995 Speech, Drama & Acting classes for young children and teenagers in Belfast. Classes are practical, unthreatening and most importantly FUN!

The Belfast School of Speech and Drama is an amalgamation of two very popular and well established Speech & Drama Schools;
'Born Actors' with sisters Anne and Katrina Cassidy & ‘The Claire Kieran McGrogan School of Speech and Drama'. We are a Unique group of teachers because as well as being Fully Qualified and experienced Speech & Drama teachers, with the New Era Academy Licentiate, we are also experienced Primary School teachers of 20+ years! Classes aim to develop the following skills:

• Reading Techniques

• Phonological Awareness

Games and activities include mime, improvisation, verse speaking, choral speaking, devised drama, story-telling, acting, public speaking, musical theatre, reading aloud and much more. Pupils are annually offered the opportunity of participating in:

• A Christmas Production
• Regional Performing Arts Festivals
• New Era Academy of Speech & Drama Examinations. (NEA exams are now fully accredited – Level 3 qualifications and above are now included in the UCAS Tarif.) Class information

Massive congratulations to Canice who has received an offer for a role in an international TV show with an A list cast! That’s all we can say on this one for now but we are super excited.

🌟 The end of an Era Celebrating Mrs Lally & Mrs McGrogan 🌟

On Friday we came together to celebrate the incredible careers of Mrs Lally and Mrs McGrogan. Together, they have clocked up nearly 60 years of dedicated service to our school!
It was a highly emotional day, marked by a beautiful mass. We extend our warmest thanks to Father Vincent for leading such a lovely service for us all.
The children were absolutely fantastic, and the singing was beautiful. A big shout out to our P6's and nursery children for their truly special performances!
We also want to express gratitude to our wonderful parents, grandparents, and past pupils. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate and wish them well on this special occasion.
To Mrs Lally and Mrs McGrogan, thank you for everything you have done for our students, staff, and the whole school community over the decades. You will be so deeply missed, but your legacy will never be forgotten by the people of Ligoniel. You have made a profound impact on so many with your love and dedication.

We all wish you both a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement. ❤️
