We are three insured and registered childminders with years of experience working together to provide home-based childcare with a great family atmosphere. I began working with her in 2001 and then my husband Craig joined us in 2006. Craig and I have three children of our own (two still live with us) who enjoy playing with the younger children. My mum takes it a bit easier now but helps out at busier times and organises nap times. We believe that childhood is the most important time in a person’s life and we aim to provide a setting in which we can teach children by example to be kind and considerate of each other. We have an open policy - equal opportunity regardless of race, religion etc. We have attended various training courses including child protection, health and safety, outdoor play, behaviour management, promoting speech and language and we all have current paediatric first aid training. We can accept childcare vouchers and also provide school, nursery, playgroup drop offs/pick ups. As long as the times don’t clash we can pick up from most local schools. We have policies in place which are compliant with the NICMA minimum standards guidelines and are reviewed annually and shared with parents. We provide meals/snacks which are all freshly cooked/prepared using fresh, healthy ingredients. Routine varies from day to day depending which kids we have and what they would like to do. We don’t like to stick to strict routines as we believe children are individuals and their needs/interests change from day to day. We have the following at our childcare setting;
Safe playroom with radiator cover and child friendly cupboards (attached to walls) with age appropriate toys, games and activities to promote child led play. Full bookcase for reading time. Fully enclosed back garden with outdoor toys, bikes, scooters, prams, tents, water table, mud kitchen and sand table. Area in kitchen for jigsaws, homework, arts and crafts, cooking and making. Three double prams and one single buggy for walks to the library, park, playgrounds. Seven seater car (with all ages car seats) for day trips to the beach, W5, museums. These trips take place during the school holidays when we have more time. Three travel cots with extra thick mattresses and individual bedding for each child. Please contact us for details of costs and current vacancies and to organise a visit. We operate a waiting list if no space available straight away. We can also provide short term and flexible childcare (if space available). Please contact us for details.
