🖥️🔒 CyberNI Week | Lock Your Screen

Stepping away from your desk?

Lock your device. Every time.

It only takes seconds for someone to access:

⚠️ Sensitive emails
⚠️ Personal data
⚠️ University or company systems

An unlocked screen is an open door.

Even in trusted environments, accidental access or opportunistic misuse can happen. Protect your work, your colleagues and yourself.

🔐 Use automatic screen lock settings
🔐 Get into the habit of locking before you walk

Small action. Big protection.

🎣 CyberNI Week | Phishing

📩 Unexpected email or message?

Don’t click the link. Don’t open the attachment.

Phishing attacks are designed to trick you into revealing passwords, financial details, or sensitive information. They often look legitimate — pretending to be from banks, universities, delivery companies or even colleagues.

One click can:

⚠️ Compromise your account
⚠️ Expose personal or university data
⚠️ Open the door to wider cyber attacks

If something feels off — it probably is.

🚩 Check the sender carefully
🚩 Don’t rush or panic
🚩 Report suspicious emails immediately

Cyber criminals rely on urgency and distraction. Take a moment. Think before you click.

🔐 CyberNI Week | Passwords & Multi-Factor Authentication

🚨 Your password is your first line of defence.

Is yours strong enough?

Here’s how to stay protected online:

🔑 Use strong, unique passwords
Longer is stronger. Avoid names, birthdays or common words.
And never reuse the same password across multiple accounts — one breach shouldn’t unlock everything.

📲 Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
That extra step makes a huge difference.

❌ Never approve an MFA prompt you didn’t initiate
If you didn’t try to log in — deny it. Someone could be attempting to access your account.

Cyber security isn’t just an IT issue — it’s everyone’s responsibility.

Stay secure. Stay aware. 🔒

We’re excited to be hosting our workshop as a part of the NI Science Festival this year! 🚀

Rocket Science for Beginners is an interactive session introducing the fundamentals of rocketry - from the basic principles of what makes a rocket lift off, to how it (hopefully!) makes it safely back to Earth.

The session combines:

🔹 An accessible talk breaking down the science behind rockets
🔹 A live demonstration exploring real (and very amateur!) rocketry
🔹 Hands-on activities with air- and water-powered rockets, giving participants a chance to experience rocket engines in their simplest form

📍 Lanyon Building, QUB
🗓️ Saturday 14 February
⏰ 10am | 12pm | 2pm
👧🧑 Suitable for ages 11+

🎟️ Free to attend, register here https://nisciencefestival.com/event/rocket-science-for-beginners/
