We are delighted to present this special event as part of the ArdBoneFest programme this August.

Join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation and reflection as we revisit the events of the Holy Cross dispute of 2001 and explore the lasting importance of dialogue, understanding and reconciliation.

We are honoured to welcome Fr Aidan Troy CP and Rev Dr Norman Hamilton—two men from different traditions who, during one of the most challenging periods in our recent history, worked tirelessly to promote peace, compassion and hope within their communities.

Hosted by veteran journalist Mark Simpson, this promises to be an insightful and engaging discussion, offering personal reflections, unique perspectives and valuable lessons on the power of courage, leadership and reconciliation.

Whether you lived through those events or want to better understand this important chapter in our shared history, everyone is warmly welcome to attend.

📍 Houben Centre, Crumlin Road
📅 Wednesday 12th August
🕡 6.30pm

Refreshments will be provided.

We are so so proud of our pupil Aodhan Catney who has won the Under 10 Boys’ All Ireland Irish Dancing Championship last week. He has been dancing from P1. It’s a great example to his peers and the whole school how perseverance and practise bring success.

The HCB Zambia team has been tirelessly working in schools, villages, and boarding facilities, creating unforgettable moments along the way. The experience has been deeply emotional, especially witnessing the joyful reactions of the children and the incredible sights we've encountered. We've truly made a difference, and it has changed us as well. Highlights include an exhilarating Gaelic football session with the girls from St Gemma’s, followed by meaningful discussions on humility in Philosophy and a heartfelt mass with Fr Devlin. We are immensely grateful to the Ardoyne and Hannahstown communities, our families and friends, and generous supporters like Kieran Murray, Finucane and Toner, Terry Cross, Michael Loughran (LCC), Aunt Nellie’s, Concentrix, Cliftonville, St. John’s, Paddy Gallagher, The League, Crumlin Star, Mary Moss, Hannahstown Ju-Jitsu, Fallones, Ardoyne Chemist (Mc Kenzie), and all other wonderful donors.
Exciting news just in: the first-ever deaf school in Chibombo is on the horizon!

Team HCB Zambia would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Pauline Martin for securing 19 jerseys from Naomh Eoin (St John's GAA).
These jerseys were presented to Jimmy, the team manager and a long-time friend of the project, along with the captain. The boys were thrilled to receive such a generous gesture from Naomh Eoin and are excited to kick off the new season in just a few weeks. Pictured here are the team with Jimmy and the captain outside St Paul’s Seminary in Chibombo.

Team Zambia HCB experienced a whirlwind of emotions during their visit to the United Hearts School, a project we were proud to help build. Over two unforgettable days, the team delivered a full sports and activities programme, including loom band making, football, frisbee throwing, and a variety of games that brought laughter and excitement to the children. The team also had the privilege of visiting local Zambian villages, where they compassionately distributed donated clothing to families in need, touching the lives of many. These meaningful interactions have already made this journey an emotional and life-changing experience for everyone involved, leaving a lasting impact on both the team and the communities they have been fortunate to serve.

An amazing day at the Zoo. Teaching and videos are all well and good. But there’s no substitute for seeing it in real life!
Thank you Desi from Ardoyne Community Centre for funding the trip. We are so thankful. 🙏🏻
