A message from Miss McQuaid ❤️
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Holy Family,
As I retire from Holy Family, I want to express my sincere thanks to each of you for your support, kindness, and trust, throughout my 36 years in the school.
Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent my entire teaching career in Holy Family Primary School. It has been far more than a place of work; it has been a family where faith, learning, friendship and compassion have shaped many children, staff, and my own life for sure.
As I leave, I do so with a full heart. I will miss the smiles, the conversations at the school doors, the shared pride in our children, and the deep sense of belonging that has defined my time in Holy Family.
It has been a privilege to lead the school for the last 11 years, working alongside dedicated staff and governors to ensure our children are Growing in Faith and Love. I leave with immense pride in all that Holy Family Primary School and Nursery Unit has achieved.
Thank you parents, carers and families, for entrusting us with your children. Your encouragement, partnership, and unwavering support are central to the success of our school. To have known so many families, and in many cases to have worked with generations of the same family, has been a special gift that I will always carry with me.
It is, of course, the Holy Family children that will always be closest to my heart. Even on the most challenging days in school, there was the love, wisdom and optimism of the children. I will miss their hugs, their laughter and their positive outlook on life.
To the school community, thank you for making my last few weeks so special. The beautiful mass and lunch, the children's assemblies, the kind words and actions, and all those beautiful cards and gifts are really appreciated.
I have loved every minute of my time in Holy Family. Now, I look forward to some time to rest, and more energy to pursue other interests.
It really has been an honour serving this wonderful community for the past 36 years. I wish each and every one of you continued happiness and success.
With heartfelt thanks and love,
Siobhán

A huge thank you to our neighbouring schools, Trinity Belfast and Cedar Lodge School, for designing and creating these wonderful new play resources for our Nursery children to enjoy.
A very special thank you also to one of our nursery parents, Conor McMullen (Aria’s dad), for kindly donating the original wooden cable drums. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
It was lovely to welcome the Blessed Trinity students today, as they delivered the resources and spent time playing with the children. They had so much fun together, and we are so grateful for the kindness, creativity, and community spirit shown by everyone involved.
Thank you all for your support!

🌿🏆 On Monday 22nd June, members of our Eco Team attended the Green Flag Award Ceremony at City Hall to collect our 8th Green Flag Award!
This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm shown by our Eco Team over the past two years. The team has focused on the topics of Global Perspective, Waste and Biodiversity, leading a range of initiatives to make our school and community more environmentally aware and sustainable.
To make the day even more special, we were also awarded 3rd place in the Wheelie Big Challenge, winning £200 to spend on eco initiatives next year. Well done to our dedicated Eco team! 🌎♻️

Yesterday’s Sports Day Prizegiving was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our pupils and recognise the overall winners from each class. There were lots of happy faces as children cheered for their friends and celebrated the achievements of others. 🥇🥈🥉
We are so proud of the enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship shown by everyone throughout both of our Sports Days. Well done everyone! ❤️

Our P7 children got absolutely soaked on their trip up Black Mountain today, but they didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits! Back at school, they warmed up with a well-deserved pizza party. 🍕 Well done, everyone! 👏😊
Our friends Clara and Eoin at Pizza Works very kindly provided the pizzas again this year. Thank you so very much! Your kindness is much appreciated ❤️
