I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t take longer to produce high quality presentations: it does. You need to give careful thought to the layout, structure and how if it’s consistent with your brand.

The time it takes to bring it all together needs to be justified in terms of the size of the project too. But are they worth it? I believe so. They’re aspirational pieces of work that demonstrate a certain creative flair and refined ability to present designs that take your clients on a journey.

They’re also very effective at elevating your brand and making you stand out. I really hate it when I see many businesses within the same industry doing the same thing. Individuality and taking ownership of your own brand identity and having the confidence to present ideas differently speaks volumes. I definitely feel this also translates to the types of clients that gravitate towards you.

We give you the tools and confidence to start on a path of experimentation when it comes to how you’re going to carve out your own identity in this industry. I love observing how you all go about this. It’s exciting, right?!

My top 5 tips when creating elevations using ! These have been created using a combination of 2D and 3D components and have been presented as a 2D elevation. I show you how to do this course #5 Creating a Window Treatment Elevation in our SketchUp Bundle course for Interior Designers.

Then I’ve added shadows & highlights in Photoshop. This is a fantastic way to tease out certain aspects of your design, like statement wallpaper, art and furniture. I take you through these steps in course #7 Rendering Floor Plans & Elevations.

Producing elevations is a great timesaver; as opposed to creating full 3D interiors. And they also help to set your brand & business apart from all the other Interior Designers who are using the same tired methods of communicating their designs.

The SketchUp Bundle includes over 70 video tutorials; unlimited access and FULL SUPPORT! Tap and click the link to learn more about how SketchUp can help you improve your own design processes AND enhance your ability to accurately communicate your designs to clients.

One thing I always say to those who are new to SketchUp or who are nervous about using SketchUp, is how addictive it is! Patricia enrolled onto the SketchUp Bundle recently and as you can see, she’s having the time of her life!

When you push past those little fears and work through my first couple of courses, you really do start to appreciate how amazing SketchUp truly is; especially when it comes to supporting your design process and ability to communicate your designs.

If you’re ready to jump straight into learning mode this weekend, why don’t you enrol now?!

I let my interior design skills loose yesterday, having not created a design scheme for a very long time. I checked out and instantly spotted their Bamboo wallpaper, which I love! So that was my starting point ☺️

Everything else for this space needed to work with this wallpaper or else they would be competing for attention. But I wanted to create a few contrasts too - a delicate balance!

Tricky patterns on wallpapers can be tested against many other colours, fabrics and materials in SketchUp. It’s one of the biggest advantages to using 3D software! The icing on the cake is using photoreal rendering to get a clearer picture of how all the different design elements will look in reality.

My biggest challenge for this design was the throw! I had to go through quite a few different styles before I settled on a pattern that I felt worked! Swapping out a throw is easy peasy when you’re using ! Not so easy in real life!

I’m a huge fan of Pooky lamps and I hope to have one someday! Their recent launch of wireless, rechargeable lamps has been groundbreaking too!

However, how do we feel about lamps in kitchens?! I have to admit that I’m struggling with this concept in such a functional space.

What are your thoughts on this?!
