Congratulations to David Heggarty, Principal of Cregagh Primary and Deaf Unit, East Belfast who has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to education.👏

A former pupil of Cregagh Primary School himself, David returned to the school as a teacher in 1999 after previously teaching at Black Mountain Primary School and Avoniel Primary School. He later served as vice-principal before being appointed principal in 2014.

David reflected “As I look back on 30 years in education, I feel enormously grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the young lives I have had the privilege to serve. Receiving an MBE is a tremendous honour, and one that I accept with both gratitude and humility.”

Two Bangor primary schools are celebrate their long-standing Shared Education partnership, bringing pupils together to learn, play and build friendships across the local community.
St Comgall’s Primary School and Grange Park Primary School have developed a strong collaborative relationship based on mutual respect, shared values and a commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for children.

Congratulations to Audrey Moore, who has been awarded a BEM in the King’s birthday honours for voluntary services to special education.

Audrey is a committed colleague and dedicated chair of Friends of Rossmar School. In addition to her role as Classroom assistant, she has given countless hours of her time applying for funding or arranging fundraisers for the school. She is fully deserving of her award for all she does for our pupils. Congratulations Audrey!
