We absolutely love our weekly Monkeynastix NIMonkeynastix sessions with Suzanne at nursery — the children have so much fun while building confidence, coordination and movement skills each week! 🤸‍♀️🐵
Suzanne is running some fantastic summer schemes during the holidays and they look brilliant for keeping little ones active, engaged and smiling over the summer break.
If your child enjoys Monkeynastix at nursery, these sessions are definitely worth checking out!

🌟 We had such a fantastic morning at McArthur Nursery School with Natasha fromDebutots North Down and Ards! The children had a brilliant time joining in with 🎭 drama, 📚 storytelling and lots of fun games — full of imagination, laughter and teamwork.
It was all built around a lovely message about 💛 kindness and friendship, which ties in perfectly with how we help our children grow in confidence, communication and care for others.
A huge thank you to Natasha for bringing so much fun and energy to our day! 🙌

📣 Schools Update on Storm Chandra 📣

⚠️ Amber and yellow weather warnings are in place for NI tomorrow and the potential impacts on schools are being kept under review.

The situation has been discussed with the Department and Minister and there are no current plans to issue general school closure notices.

School leaders are asked to monitor and assess the weather warnings and conditions in their areas and to take local decisions if required.

School transport services will operate but may be subject to disruption due to high winds and the risk of flooding. In line with PSNI advice, contingency plans are being finalised to avoid coastal roads where possible.

Parents should be aware of the potential for disruption to school transport tomorrow as, in some cases, they may have to make their own transport arrangements for their children.

🦔🐜 A Very Special Visitor at McArthur Nursery School! 🐜🦔
Today we were delighted to welcome Alan from Wee Critters into our nursery school. For an amazing hands on learning experience. Alan introduced us to a fascinating range of creatures, including an armadillo and a cockroach, and taught us so much about how they live, move, and survive.
The children were truly in awe, asked fantastic questions, and showed how brave and curious they are when exploring new experiences. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they observed, listened, and interacted so respectfully with the animals.
This visit links beautifully with our learning particularly :
❤️The World Around Us – exploring living things and developing curiosity about the natural world
❤️Personal Development and Mutual Understanding – building confidence, respect for animals, and managing feelings
❤️Language and Literacy – developing listening skills and extending vocabulary
❤️Physical Development and Movement – carefully handling and observing the creatures
