Why is skip counting important?
Skip counting is a foundational numeration skill that lays the groundwork for being able to add➕, subtract➖, multiply✖️, divide➗, as well as for functional skills like counting money💵.

What is this graph?
At Fit Learning, we progress monitor utilizing the Standard Celeration Chart📈. This objectively allows us to see, in session, how a learner is doing with their programme, whether we need to make changes, move them up to a next level, as well as being an outcome measure that we can share with their family.

We now have 4 incredible programmes at . Let’s chat about what they are!

📚Fit Reading: The OG! Fit Reading is a comprehensive, bespoke programme that supports learners struggling with literacy. Our learners master the foundational skills of phonics, phonemic awareness, oral and silent reading, reading comprehension, spelling, and vocabulary.
🧮Fit Maths: If your child has difficulty with maths, this is another individualised programme that can be tailored around their numeracy needs. Our learners master the foundational skills in numeration, computation, fractions, decimals, ratios, percents, algebra, and problem solving.
🧠Fit Logic: Aligned with Fit Reading and Fit Maths, Fit Logic is an excellent programme, where learners master skills in listener understanding, problem solving, reading comprehension, sequencing, critical thinking, and study skills.
💡Fit Lite: The newbie! Fit Lite is a mini version of Fit Reading. A great taster and introduction to the Fit Learning model, sessions are half the length at 25 mins, whilst still working on core literacy skills. This programme is also available for schools, run by a Fit Learning Coach, and integrated into their school day.

As we go back to work and school in Northern Ireland, now might also be a time that you are reflecting, planning, and setting goals for the year ahead, whether for yourself, your family, or both!👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Learning📚 is a lifelong process and the start of the new year is a great time to set learning goals. Whether it’s learning a new skill, studying a new subject, or improving in an area you’re already familiar with, there are always opportunities to expand your knowledge. Make a plan, set achievable goals, and dedicate time each week to learning🧠

Applications are open for our Girls Social Group. The Social Group is for Autistic girls between the ages of 12-17 and meets at our centre in Carryduff every other Saturday morning from 10-1. For more information and an application form please contact [email protected]

So proud of this learner and all that she continues to accomplish!

The 3 key areas for this learner are phonics, visual decoding and reading. What I love about these results are that in:
🔅40 hours➡️ Reached the Fit fluency criteria/mastery for phonics
🔅90 hours➡️ Reached the fluency criteria for decoding (with both real and nonsense words… which is a crucial test of learning as opposed to having memorized words)
🔅With reading real and nonsense words, growth has been seen each enrollment and the next big target is to master it too!
