🕷️ Our little explorers have been discovering the fascinating world of mini beasts through sensory play! 🦂🐍 By touching, moving and investigating different creatures in our tuff tray, the children were developing their curiosity, descriptive language, fine motor skills and imaginative play. This hands-on experience also encouraged confidence, problem-solving and conversations about the natural world in a fun and engaging way. 🌿🐜💚

Our little learners have been exploring a world of sensory discovery! 🌈✨ From the ball pool and glowing fibre optic lights to tactile sensory resources and plasma light play, the children have been developing their curiosity, fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and sensory awareness. Through play, they are building confidence, problem-solving skills, and learning to explore the world around them using all of their senses. 💙🌟

🎨 Little Hands, Big Discoveries! ❤️

Today our babies explored finger painting, using their hands to investigate colour, texture and movement. Sensory experiences like these encourage curiosity, creativity and confidence while supporting fine motor development and hand-eye coordination.

It was wonderful to watch the excitement, smiles and concentration as they discovered what happened when little fingers met bright paint. Every mark they made was part of their own unique learning journey. 🌈✨

This role is designed to provide flexible, short-notice cover. On days when a member of staff phones in sick or we are short-staffed, we may contact you on the day to ask if you are available to work. If you are available, you would be asked to come in and work the hours required at short notice.

💦✨ Learning through play… and a little bit of splash! ✨💦

Today our children explored our sensory water play area, and what may look like simple fun is actually powerful, meaningful learning in action.

Through pouring, scooping and filling, the children are developing:
🌱 Early maths skills – understanding volume, full/empty, cause and effect
🖐️ Fine motor skills – strengthening little hands and coordination
🧠 Problem solving – figuring out how to pour, transfer and control movement
💬 Language development – hearing and using words like pour, splash, full, empty
💛 Social skills – sharing resources, taking turns and playing alongside others

The sensory experience of water also supports calmness, focus and emotional regulation, allowing children to feel relaxed, engaged and confident in their play.
