We would like to thank Rory’s mummy Shannen and the volunteers from Marrow Bone Youth Club who came today to do some planting with the children. We really appreciate all your hard work and support. A special thank you also to the Men’s shed who built the lovely window boxes and planters and also provided the hanging baskets and beautiful flowers.

Protect Nursery Education in NI
Colleagues, families, and friends — the Department of Education has opened a public consultation on the Draft Executive Early Learning and Childcare Strategy.
This is a crucial moment for us to make our voices heard.
Statutory Nursery School is education — not “childcare.”
We need policy that recognises and protects the unique educational role of nursery schools and makes access to statutory nursery education mandatory across Northern Ireland.
👉 Have your say here: https://www.education-ni.gov.uk/consultations/consultation-draft-executive-elc-strategy
If you can, please share this message and the graphic below across your networks to help raise awareness. Nursery education matters — let’s make sure it’s protected.
Thank you 🙏

We have been monitoring the incoming Storm Chandra closely today and with the significant risk posed by the Amber Warning in place throughout this evening and most of tomorrow we have reluctantly taken the decision to close the school.
This decision has been taken in light of the Amber weather warning predicting winds of 60 – 70mph, in particular the close proximity of the derelict Church building. The warning specifically states “Flying debris is likely and could lead to injuries or danger to life.”
We appreciate that this will cause disruption however we consider the health and safety of our pupils, parents/guardians and staff is of paramount importance.
After careful consideration and a thorough risk assessment of our school site (including the adjacent vacant church site) we have reluctantly decided that the school is not safe to open tomorrow to pupils or staff.
Thank you for you patience and understanding.
