Free laptops, connectivity and digital skills support for young people aged 11-19. Check eligibility criteria in this post.

Northern Ireland continues to record the highest levels of digital poverty in the UK. In rural areas, where around 17% of homes still lack decent broadband, access to education increasingly depends on whether a young person has the tools to participate at all.

For those without a reliable laptop at home, that gap is immediate. Schoolwork becomes harder to complete. Platforms go unused. Expectations are missed, not through lack of ability, but lack of access.

Tech4Youth intervenes at that point. The programme places refurbished laptops directly into use, alongside digital literacy workshops and online access support. It prioritises young people aged 11 to 16 with caring responsibilities, health conditions or disabilities, or experience of the care system, where barriers compound quickly.

Applications are now open. If you work with young people, support families, or know someone who may be eligible, please share this.
