Well done to Charlotte, P3 and Victoria, P1, who sang in the Belfast Philharmonic Youth Choirs 20th Anniversary Concert with the Ulster Orchestra.

This was a beautiful concert held in Fisherwick which featured highlights from across the years. They were joined by the Dublin Youth Choir and Sperrin Youth Choir for a special performance of Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo.

P3 enjoyed two visits from George who works for Belfast City Council- one indoor and one outdoor session. This was linked to our 'Going Green' topic. P3 are very enthusiastic about caring for our environment. We learnt about the story of paper, recycling and dangerous litter through different games and activities.

🎈 International Day of Play 🎈

On 11 June the United Nations celebrated the International Day of Play, recognising the vital role play has in every happy, healthy childhood. Inspired by Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, every child has the right to play, so schools were encouraged to build in an extra 31 minutes of play!

We fully embraced the challenge by extending playtime for every class by 31 minutes. Pupils used a range of resources to create the number 31, enjoying valuable time for imaginative and creative play. A wonderful way to celebrate the power of play!

Yesterday, we had a great morning meeting Tim Jeffries and Pudsey!

Tim explained all about their journey visiting 35 ports around the UK. The aim is to raise £70,000 for Children in Need. We were also joined by MLA and past pupil of the College, Kate Nicholl.

The pupils enjoyed seeing the sailing boat and hearing all about this great adventure.
A super morning out!

Well done to our Little Collegians who received their award, which recognises pupils who embody our CREST values. Last week’s Little Collegian Award was presented to the pupils for 'excellence.'

Congratulations to Farah, Freddie, Liliana, Isabella, Samuel, Arthur, Ashlann, Rowan, Ashten, Bryn and Jack.

Every Wednesday our Prep 7 pupils team up with Prep 1 children for special reading sessions at school. The older pupils help their younger partners read stories, build confidence, and enjoy books.

The initiative has quickly become a favourite, with Prep 1 pupils benefiting from extra support, while Prep 7 pupils develop leadership skills.

Prep 6 had a fantastic immersive day in Methody on Friday. They began in the Technology Department, where teamwork and problem-solving were put to the test as pupils designed and built bridges. With house tokens up for grabs, the competition was fierce!

The day continued at Pirrie for an energetic Games session before finishing in the Food and Nutrition Department. There, pupils discovered more about the subject and took on a hands-on challenge, creating their own smoothies, which were unanimously declared delicious!

A brilliant day of learning, collaboration, and new experiences for all involved.

Well done to Sophie, Prep 3, who performed as a Froglet Soloist in the Belfast School of Performing Arts recent production of Honk held in Stranmillis Theatre. 🐸
