Come July, I’ll be moving across the water to England with

Living in Ireland for the last 7 years has been absolutely magical, and although I’m looking forward to this change, I will miss the wonderful community of people over here.

I’m so proud to have been a part of such a vibrant community of people who love drumming, dance, and music and to celebrate that I’m hosting a final drum circle at Maitri studio on Friday 26th June on a pay-as-you-feel basis.

We’re going to be continuing a bit later than usual, so there’ll be an opportunity to just go with the flow and jam – bring any instruments you like.

Everybody is welcome, whether you have attended a drum circle before or not, whether I’ve met you before or not! Bring your kids, bring your grandparents. It’s all good.

I'm back to running African drumming classes again! This time at Suffolk Community Centre, 60 Carnanmore Park, Belfast BT10 0NQ. Easily accessible from Blacks Road, just off the M1, or 10 minutes from a glider stop.

You can book for 5 weeks, or drop in for any of the weeks as a one off. We'll go over basic techniques at the beginning each week so that beginners are not left behind!

Suitable for beginners/intermediate players.

Booking is essential if you require a drum.

Hi everyone!

I'll be running a few djembe/dundun classes this term at Morton Community Centre. Feel free to come for all 4 weeks, or drop-in for a single session! Every class we'll go over the basics, so beginners will not feel left behind! Suitable for beginner-intermediate players.

My next one-off African Drumming Workshop will be on the 24th August! Booking via following the bio link as usual.

We'll be learning and having fun with another couple of African rhythms.

I'll be continuing with full courses from September, so if you want to try it out before committing, then this is your chance!

I'm holding a couple of one-off African drumming workshops this summer, as my courses are on hold till September. (Follow link in bio to book)

Suitable for beginner to intermediate levels.

We'll be learning a playing a traditional African rhythm, and experiencing all the benefits that come with group drumming: releasing stress, finding calm, connecting with each other, experiencing joy!

The level of difficulty will be tailored to individual abilities. Djembe technique will be broken down for beginners, and some more advanced rhythms will be offered to those who have a bit more experience playing.

We'll learn basic djembe and dun dun techniques, learn traditional African rhythms, and improve our overall sense of rhythm.

Music is part of who we are at the deepest level and we don’t need any special talent or training to harness its power to enhance our lives. This workshop is aimed at empowering you to access the four elements of music – rhythm as medicine for the body, melody as medicine for the heart, harmony as medicine for the soul, and silence as medicine for the mind.

We will be using mindful listening practices, as well as music-making practices to deepen your connection to your inner sound, all based on Christine Stevens’ research into the science and spirit of healing yourself with sound.
