Outreach Update ~ Tuesday 15th September 2026

We had a lovely dry and mild evening for our food service, always a bonus for our callers and volunteers alike.

Thankfully it was another lovely shift, busy tonight with all meals gone quickly and a few latecomers directed to Belfast Homeless Services. We had no trouble to report and everyone was in the best of form, all grateful for the hot food, and the good company.

Out volunteering this evening we had Julie F, Leeanne, Patricia and Chelsea. Thanks as always to all of them for their continued dedication and support to everyone who uses our services. Shoutout to Leeanne who stepped in at short notice to lend an extra pair of hands.

Tonight on the menu we had a choice of chicken tikka with rice, or hamburgers from Julie, and pasta bolognese from Patricia. David very kindly dropped down sandwiches and filled flasks. Julie filled the usual tray of biscuits and sukies, and Chelsea supplied another couple of loaves of sandwiches and the milk and water. Thanks everyone!

Thanks to our foodbank team for the fruit loaf which Julie kindly buttered. It went down a treat with a cuppa.

Thanks to Storehouse for the buns and chocolate biscuits. They also donated tins of beans which Patricia will use for future meals.

Thanks also to Patricia’s friend Karen for the two bags of men’s clothes which will be passed on to other homeless clothing groups.

We are constantly blown away by the support we receive ~ thank you to each and every one of you who donates to our group.

“To whoever you initiate contact with and wherever, try to leave a positive impression. To whoever you have the power to make smile, exploit that power as often and best as you can, because when every other material thing fades, it’s those memories that keep us alive.”
