A joyous day in Mr Boyle’s classroom. Congratulations to my tutor students who absolutely smashed it today. Well done lads! 🎉🥳🙌🏻

Good luck to everyone sitting their Unit one: English Literature exam tomorrow. Read the questions carefully and identify the key words of the question. In both sections remember to identify your language techniques and for section A try to get 2-3 counter argument paragraphs in there.

Don’t try and predict which character is coming up. Prepare for everyone!

Hi everyone! Unfortunately I will have to cancel all tutor sessions this week. This is a very busy week in school with deadlines approaching. I will be in touch with everyone by the end of the day. See you all next week.

Firstly, everyone should be extremely proud of everything you’ve achieved today. If you received a result that wasn’t what you were hoping for then have a look at the information below.

Remark ✅

Sometimes an examiner can miss a mark or two when deciding on your final grade. If your UMS mark was 95/120 you’re not far off an A which is 96. You do need to consider the scaling and grade boundaries but this is an option you could consider. Your school will be able to organise a remark request and discuss fees for this.

REMEMBER - a remark can also go down and you will retain the lower mark. Have a talk with your teacher before you do anything!

Resit ✍🏻

If you have sat either unit 1 or 4 only once then you can repeat either unit in May 2025. This is a second chance to show the examiner what you can really do. If your result is lower than your original mark you will retain the higher mark so you’ve nothing to lose.

Other things to consider:

If you are considering a remark or a resist it might be worth ordering a PHOTOCOPY of your transcript. This would give you and your teacher an opportunity to see if a) it is worth going for a remark and b) the areas to focus on for the resit.

All of the above will have a fee but you’re school should be able to provide you with that information.

Remember order a photocopy so that you still have the option for a remark!

Hi everyone! A big sigh of relief that unit one and unit four are done. You should all be proud of the hard work you put in and I have no doubt your results will be fantastic.

As things begin to quiet down I will be taking a short break but will be back in the New Year for more face to face and online tutoring.
