On behalf of our team, I wanted to Thank all of our Families for our beautiful cards, gifts, messages and kind words. From the Tweenies and Brite Sparks Families.

We would like to thank Race Leys Infants for kindly allowing us to access their playground this morning,
We would like to thank Nuneaton and Bedworth Police, the children loved their visit

An Enormous thanks to our staff team for working so hard to make sure that the Brite Sparks Children got to spend one last time together all having fun.

Out of School Parents - please note that you will be unable to park behind Race Leys Infant School this week due to scheduled building work and scaffolding.
Parents will be required to park on Leicester Road and walk down Hurst Road to our main entrance instead.

,Due to the intense heat and extreme temperatures forecasted for tomorrow, we will be following local school decisions to implement an early collection for our children.
Where possible, we kindly ask parents to collect their children at 11:55 a.m. at the end of the morning session.

We sincerely apologise for the short notice. However, in alignment with local schools, the overall consensus is that the afternoon heat poses too high a risk to the health and safety of the children.

Despite our best efforts to cool the rooms, temperatures inside our portacabins cannot be safely managed as air conditioning is not available. Please note that at such extreme temperatures, fans simply circulate warm air rather than cooling it, which is not suitable or safe for the children.

We strongly encourage parents to consider all alternative options due to the heat. That being said, our setting will remain open for those who have absolutely no other childcare options.

Please be assured that any children remaining with us will be monitored very closely. If any child shows signs of heat-related difficulties, parents will be contacted immediately and your child will require collecting.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and support in keeping our children safe.

Important -

Tomorrow Wednesday 8th July is school transition day.

Our Brite Sparks Children will tomorrow explore their new settings for transition day.

Unfortunately we are unable to take children to or collect your child from their transition session. - each family should be aware of their child's session time, if you do not yet know it please contact the school directly.

If your child is due to attend brite sparks all day they are welcome to attend preschool either before their session if they are attending school in the afternoon or after their session if they are attending school in the morning, however please be mindful of whether attending both settings in one day will cause your child to become unsettled.

We wish our Brite Sparks Children a fantastic day tomorrow and can not wait to hear about your adventures at big school.

Please be aware that the temperatures are due to rise this week again.

If your child struggles with heat please consider reducing their hours this week or keeping them home (especially Wednesday onwards)

If your child attends preschool but finds it difficult to cope with the heat we will contact you to collect your child.

Those children that attend this week will need suncream already applied prior to arriving at preschool.
Please don't forget drinks bottles and hats.

If your child does not drink water please consider providing some squash to ensure that your child's drinks bottle can be refilled with a drink they will like.

Please ensure that children have their shoulders covered and no sliders or flip-flops should be worn.

VERY IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE-

The MET office suggests that the temperature and UV levels are going to rise to up to 37 degrees during the upcoming week (correct at the time of writing this)

Children under 5 years of age are more at risk of heat-related illness, and children are more vulnerable to dehydration, heat exhaustion and sunburn.

Given this, and the well-being of our preschool children, families, and staff, please carefully consider your child's attendance at preschool this upcoming week, especially during the predicted hottest weather.
You may wish to reduce your child's attendance hours or keep them at home on the hottest days, especially if they are sensitive to warm weather or have any underlying health concerns.

We will continue to take precautions to keep the children who attend this week safe and comfortable. We will ensure regular drink breaks are taken, we will encourage water play, we will encourage the children to not run around, and we will encourage children to stay in shaded areas.

Due to the type of buildings we have, the temperature rises rapidly inside, which, even with fans, is difficult to maintain at a comfortable temperature. It is due to this and the health and safety associated with the high temperatures predicted for young children that we share this update.

Please be assured that we will closely monitor any child who attends, and if they appear to struggle due to the high temperatures, we may contact you to collect your child.

Plaase can you help us?
As part of our Brite Sparks Leavers celebration we are seeking donations for our Tombola stall.
We are requesting bottles (alcohol, fizzy drinks, bubble bath etc) unused gift sets, unused toys/teddies, sweets etc.
If you are able to donate any prizes they will be very appreciated.
We appreciate your support with this.
(We respectfully ask for no chocolate donations due to the unpredictable weather and the likelihood of them melting prior to that day. )

On behalf of all the staff at Happy Tykes, we wanted to share our thanks for the support and cooperation this week during the heat wave.

Our buildings have reached temperatures that we've been unable to maintain a comfortable environment for the staff and children.
Your support during this week has been very appreciated.

The staff have worked incredibly hard to keep the children safe and engaged during the heat wave. So a huge Thank you to the staff too.

The weather forecast for next week is looking much more manageable which I'm sure we are all looking forward to.
