📵✨ Our Truly Phone-Free School ✨📵

Since introducing our mobile phone pouches on 14 September, we’ve been really pleased with how positively they have become part of the everyday routine at Lincroft Academy. We’ve also loved seeing students make their pouches their own!

🎨 From doodles and patterns to some brilliantly creative designs, plenty of personality has been appearing across the school.

Our phone-free approach is helping to create fewer distractions, more focus on learning and more opportunities for face-to-face conversation and connection throughout the school day.

💙 A huge thank you to our students, staff and families for their continued support as we embed this positive change across our school community. 💙

📚To celebrate National Poetry Day 2026, students have created a collection of book spine poems using titles taken from the shelves in our Reading & Learning Centre. 📚

💭📝✨ By transforming a simple stack of books into something entirely new, they have demonstrated how reading can spark imagination and inspire creativity. 💭📝✨

💛 We are pleased to share that Lincroft Academy will once again be supporting Hello Yellow this year! 💛

Hello Yellow is an annual campaign run by YoungMinds, helping to raise awareness of children and young people’s mental health and encouraging everyone to talk openly about their wellbeing and support one another.

This year, Lincroft Academy is turning yellow! We are encouraging both staff and students to get involved in our Hello Yellow House Competition on Friday 9th October.

🧁 Hello Yellow Bake Off 🧁
Students and staff are invited to bake a yellow-themed cake at home and bring it into school on Friday 9th October. Cakes will be judged by members of SLT, with the winning entry earning 500 House points! Every student who enters will also earn 5 House points for taking part.

💛 Wear Yellow for Your House 💛
We will also be awarding House points to the House with the highest number of students wearing at least one yellow item on the day.
Throughout the week, students will also take part in activities and discussions focused on mental health, wellbeing and how we can support ourselves and others.

We are looking forward to seeing Lincroft turn yellow and coming together as a community to show that mental health matters.

🐾 Meet Lottie – our school therapy dog! 🐾

💙❤️ Some of you will already know Lottie, but we thought it was time for a proper introduction! 💙❤️

🐶 Lottie is our 2-year-old Cockapoo who has been part of the Lincroft community since she was just 3 months old. Since then, she has worked very hard and successfully completed her PAWS therapy training. 🎓

Lottie loves being part of school life and is always happiest when there’s a ball to chase, a muddy puddle to find or a walk to enjoy! And if you’re lucky enough to give her a fuss, she much prefers a gentle stroke under her chin rather than on top of her head.

A few important Lottie rules:
🐾 Please always ask before petting her.
🐾 Lottie will always be accompanied by an adult in school.
🐾 If you are nervous or unsure around dogs, that is absolutely fine. Lottie will not approach students who do not wish to be near her, and staff will always respect this.

💙 We love having Lottie as part of our school community and the calm, smiles and waggy tails she brings with her! 🐾
