Early education forms the basis of your child’s future and it’s all delivered by Learning Through Play...
In partnership with parents, we ultimately aim to ensure your child will be as 'Ready for School' as possible, by the time they leave us. This means that children should have strong social skills, can cope emotionally with being separated from parents, are relatively independent in their own personal care and have a curiosity about the world and a desire to learn. Through a combination of long-serving dedicated members of staff, a huge range of resources and an interesting and varied curriculum we believe we can offer ‘The best for every child’
We have a good relationship with our local primary school and teachers visit the pre-school children prior to transferring, giving the children the opportunity to become familiar with their new classes and teachers. We are open from 9am through to 1pm during term time and can offer up to 20 hours of childcare per week. Ladybird Class
Children enter the Ladybird Class aged 2 years or over. In this class they learn to mix with other children, to share and make friends. They become interested in other's play and start to join in - they may form special friendships with other children. They can take part in activities to develop their confidence and build up their social skills. Rainbow Class
Children move into this class from the start of the autumn term 12 months prior to beginning school This class is working towards the goal of trying to ensure that all the children achieve their potential in all areas of learning and leave us confident, happy and well-adjusted children. Our resources
We have an extensive range of equipment and learning materials, which is upgraded and added to on a regular basis. During sessions children can participate in all sorts of activities and play alongside or with other children, as well as adults in order to maximise their social skills. They can use and enjoy books; they can increase their fine motor skills by using brushes, scissors and other appropriate tools. We encourage singing, rhymes, games and action-based activities by use of a variety of musical instruments. They have the opportunity to develop gross motor skills by climbing, running and balancing on large equipment and within our outdoor area. They can develop many other skills whilst participating in one-to-one adult-directed activities. We have two musical mornings during the year, a summer outing for the school leavers, sports day and a Christmas concert and party.
