At Pilgrims, curiosity is at the heart of learning, as we believe children who are encouraged to question have more fun and enjoy richer, more meaningful learning experiences.

Last week, our Reception children set off on a school-wide hunt for some mischievous Gingerbread Men, who kept escaping from our classrooms and leaving notes saying, 'Catch me if you can!'

The children worked together to solve clues, think creatively about how to find the Gingerbread Men and explore their new surroundings along the way. The adventure marks the start of this term's learning journey, bringing a traditional tale to life through imaginative, language-rich experiences.

Pilgrims Pre‑Prep is seeking caring, enthusiastic and committed Early Years Support Educators to join our vibrant Early Years Department. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting young children’s learning, development and wellbeing within a nurturing, inclusive and high‑quality environment.

About the Role

You will:
- Support EYFS learning experiences through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
- Promote children’s social, emotional and physical development through positive interactions.
- Create meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity and confidence.
- Motivate others through positive role modelling.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Support children’s personal care routines (sleep, toileting/nappy changing, mealtimes) in line with health and safety requirements.

Working Hours - We have two positions available:
- Full‑time: 37.5 or 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Part‑time: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Both roles are all year round.

Working Hours: Two Positions available
-Full time position: Monday to Friday. 37.5 or 40 hours per week
-Part time Position: Monday to Friday, 16 hours per week

Castle Day in Year One! 🏰

As part of their topic ‘Oh What a Knight!’, children and staff welcomed Off The Page into school for a fully immersive day exploring what life was like in a medieval castle.

Dressed in medieval costumes, Year 1 stepped back in time and took part in a range of hands-on activities, candle making, thread weaving and leather sewing, giving them a taste of the roles and routines of castle life.

Through these experiences, the children gained a deeper understanding of medieval times while exploring history in a memorable and engaging way.✨

The last two days at Pilgrims have been all about settling in, being imaginative, curious, and exploring new things! 🌟

Reception and Year 1 enjoyed getting hands-on as they explored different textures through sand, playdough, and water play, thinking about how each one feels and discovering the world through their senses.

Meanwhile, Year 2 began their exciting new topic, Pole to Pole, about the Arctic and Antarctic. They’ve been experimenting with watercolours and learning how to create beautiful gradients inspired by their learning.

It’s been wonderful seeing the children embracing new experiences and settling so confidently into the new school year. 😊
