Biddenham International School

This piece of mixed media art was created by Year 12 student, Aleena Najjuma, as part of her broader learning about the Holocaust with the Holocaust Educational Trust (UK). The artwork was Aleena's final piece, her way of sharing her learning with others in our community. The HET felt her work was remarkable and have invited her to come to their annual Holocaust Ambassador's conference in London next month!

One of the ways in which we have celebrated PRIDE month is by having students from all years decorate cupcakes in colours of their choice. They all were able to show off their creativity and did a fantastic job! 🏳️‍🌈

On Tuesday 16th June, our AQA GCSE French students headed out to The Stables MK in Wavendon for an immersive French Study Day!

The interactive day used short films to explore themes of identity, culture and belonging, introduced students to new vocabulary and provided them with opportunities to practice their listening, speaking and writing.

Year 7 students have been making food in their RS lessons because they are currently learning about Sikhism. They have been making a dish called Karah Prashad which is a sacred dish served at the end of a service to the congregation. This year we had the pleasure of welcoming Daljit from the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Bedford to assist us. Thank you Daljit for taking the time out to do this! 🙏

Our Food students had a brilliant learning experience on Thursday 4th June! Keith from Animal Aid came in to deliver some incredibly engaging sessions. Through a great mix of interactive activities and discussions, our students got to explore new perspectives on food. A massive thank you to Keith for such an excellent day!

On Tuesday 2nd June, students had the opportunity to explore the evolving urban landscape of London's East End, investigating how regeneration and gentrification have impacted the area's identity and community.

Congratulations to our students who took part in the Ignite Bedfordshire program at Bedford School before the half term! They networked with entrepreneurs and pitched their impressive business ideas at the final showcase event. They represented our school brilliantly! 🌟

We would like to extend our thanks to Imam Ayaz from Gulshan-E-Baghdad Masjid and Father Simon Tibbs from All Saints Church Bedford for taking the time to record a revision video for our Year 10 students to help them with their revision for their mock on w/c 15th June.

Year 10 experienced university life at Wadham College on Monday 18th May!

The day included an academic taster session, a guided tour of the college, a chance to meet current students and concluded with a fantastic visit to the Pitt Rivers Museum. A brilliant and inspiring experience all round!
