❓ Does your child find multiplication easier when they can see it, move it and work it out step by step?
🧮 Multiplication can sometimes feel like a mountain to climb, especially when children are still building their confidence with times tables and problem-solving.
✏️ Using colourful visual activities, practical examples and clear explanations can help children understand why multiplication works, rather than simply memorising answers.
🌟 At Bedford Tutor, we make maths engaging and accessible, with support tailored to each child’s individual learning style and confidence level.
🏡 Our hybrid tuition combines the flexibility of online learning with face-to-face support, giving families a choice that works around their routines.
💬 Whether your child needs help with multiplication, times tables or wider maths skills, we’re here to help them take those next steps with confidence.

🌍 What should international families look for in an online tutor?
Choosing an online tutor can feel surprisingly difficult, especially when your child is studying overseas, following a different curriculum or moving between schools and countries.
For international families, it’s about much more than finding someone who knows their subject. 📚
A good online tutor should be able to:
✨ Understand your child’s curriculum
🧠 Adapt to different learning needs
💬 Communicate clearly with parents
🌱 Build confidence alongside academic skills
🌍 Understand the realities of international education
❤️ See the child behind the difficulty
This can be particularly important for children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, dyscalculia or other additional learning needs, where a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach simply may not work.
I’ve been fortunate to support children in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and other countries around the world, helping learners develop essential English and maths skills whilst building confidence in their own abilities.
🌟 Because sometimes the most important question isn't "Which tutor has the best qualifications?”
It’s "Will this tutor understand my child?"
I’ve explored this in my latest article:

❓ What a wonderful feeling it is to see a child’s confidence grow as they discover just how much they can achieve!
🌟 This fantastic young learner has been working hard on their reading and writing, and it has been lovely to see their progress shine through.
📚 From recognising and reading words to carefully forming letters and having a go at writing independently, every achievement deserves to be celebrated.
✏️ The biggest success is seeing the pride and enjoyment on their face as they realise, “I can do this!” Building confidence alongside literacy skills is such an important part of learning.
💛 We are incredibly proud of the effort, enthusiasm and determination shown here. These are the moments that remind us why celebrating every little step matters so much.
🌈 At Bedford Tutor, we create encouraging, child-centred learning experiences where children can build skills at their own pace and feel proud of what they achieve. Our hybrid tuition offers a flexible approach to support different learners and their individual needs.
🏆 Keep going, keep learning and keep believing in yourself. You are doing brilliantly!

🐻 Looking for a fun way to help your child practise number bonds and addition this summer?
🎲 This NEW Number Bonds Game turns maths practice into something children can enjoy. They match the numbers on the animal cards with the correct number bonds, helping them develop addition skills while having fun.
🔢 Activities like this can be especially helpful for children who find traditional worksheets overwhelming. Using colourful, hands-on resources can make mathematical ideas feel more accessible and build confidence step by step.
🌟 At Bedford Tutor, we use engaging, child-friendly approaches to support children with Maths, including those who may benefit from SEND-friendly, dyscalculia-friendly or confidence-building tuition.
🏡 Our hybrid tuition combines the benefits of face-to-face and online learning, giving families a flexible option that can be adapted to their child’s needs.

🤔 Looking for a fun way to help your child practise their times tables without another worksheet?
🎯 I had a simple new idea using a paper plate! Start at the arrow with 1 × your chosen number, then work your way around the plate, filling in each multiplication fact in order. It’s a hands-on activity that helps children build confidence, improve recall and spot number patterns as they go.
🎨 You can make it even more engaging by decorating the plate with stickers, colours or drawings. Children often enjoy learning more when they’ve helped create the resource themselves, and it can be used again and again for different times tables.
💡 This is a great activity for home, home education or extra practice between lessons. It’s also easy to adapt for different abilities, making it a useful resource for many learners.
🌟 At Bedford Tutor, I love creating practical resources that make maths enjoyable and memorable. Activities like this are perfect for supporting children during online, in-person and hybrid tuition, helping them build confidence alongside strong maths skills.

❓ Has your child ever come away from a lesson smiling and feeling proud of themselves?
💛 One of the loveliest things a parent can hear is that their child is happy to learn. Progress isn’t just about grades and results. It’s also about confidence, enjoyment and how a child feels when they walk away from a lesson.
🌟 We were delighted to receive this wonderful feedback from a parent whose child has really enjoyed her lessons. Knowing that she comes away with such a positive attitude means so much to us.
📚 At Bedford Tutor, we believe learning should be supportive, encouraging and adapted to the individual child. Whether your child needs help with English, Maths, confidence or additional learning needs, we aim to make every lesson a positive experience.
🏡 Our hybrid tuition gives families flexibility too, combining the benefits of face-to-face learning with online tuition where appropriate.
💬 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Reviews like this remind us why creating a warm and positive learning environment matters so much.

❓Did you watch the Solar Eclipse yesterday?
🌞 What a fantastic opportunity for some hands-on learning. A solar eclipse is not just something to watch, it is a brilliant way to explore science, space, light, shadows and the movement of our solar system.
🔭 These photographs show the changing shape of the Sun during the eclipse, captured using simple projection methods rather than looking directly at the Sun.
📚 Moments like this are wonderful for encouraging children to ask questions, make observations and discover that learning can happen anywhere, including in the garden during the school holidays.
🏡 At Bedford Tutor, we love making learning practical, engaging and meaningful. Our hybrid tuition combines the flexibility of online learning with opportunities for personalised support, helping children learn in ways that suit them.
🌟 Whether your child loves science, needs a little extra confidence with learning, or simply enjoys discovering how the world works, curiosity is a wonderful place to start.

❓Can you believe it’s been 10 wonderful years since the most exciting day of my life?
🎉 On 5th August 2016, I was handed the keys to Chapel House, and I still remember the excitement like it was yesterday. I could already picture it becoming a place where children would feel welcomed, supported and inspired to learn. It truly was the beginning of an amazing journey.
📚 Over the past decade, Chapel House has grown into a warm and nurturing learning environment where so many children have built confidence, overcome challenges and celebrated their achievements. Every corner has been created with children in mind, making learning engaging, enjoyable and accessible for all.
💙 I am incredibly grateful to every family who has been part of this journey. Your trust and support have made the last ten years so special, and I look forward to continuing to help even more children thrive through Bedford Tutor’s personalised online and hybrid tuition.
🌟 Thank you for being part of the story so far. Here’s to the next chapter and many more years of helping children shine.

❓ What did we get up to in this morning’s maths lesson?
📚 This morning we focused on fractions, decimals and percentages, practising how to convert between the three.
🧮 We looked at examples such as 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%, 2/5 = 0.4 = 40%, and 9/10 = 0.9 = 90%.
🎯 We also used visual representations to help make the connections clearer, including fraction grids and percentage models. This can be particularly helpful when a child understands a concept better when they can actually see it.
🌟 A great lesson for building confidence and recognising that fractions, decimals and percentages are simply different ways of representing the same amount.
