Confidence doesn't just appear overnight - it is built through encouragement, perseverance and the courage to keep trying.
This week, our children took to the stage for Bee: The Musical, and we couldn't be prouder of them. Each child showed incredible resilience, confidence and determination.
At Polam, our CORE values are at the heart of everything we do. Performances like this. Bring them to life as children embrace challenges with Curiosity, support one another with Empathy, overcome nerves through Resilience and step onto the stage with Optimism.

A fantastic Sports Day with children giving their all, supporting their teammates and enjoying every moment. Throughout the day, we saw our CORE values in action – showing Curiosity as they tried new challenges, Optimism in every race, Resilience when things didn't go to plan, and Empathy as they encourage and celebrated one another.

Last week was certainly one to remember.
An inspection during one of the hottest June weeks on record is not quite how any of us imagined the final few weeks of term.
This was the second inspection I've had the privilege of leading at Polam, and moments like these always provide an opportunity to reflect.
The children in this photograph are my own, taken during their time as pupils here at Polam. Alongside being headteacher, I was also fortunate enough to experience this school as a parent, trusting the team with the two people most important to me in the world.
Seeing Polam through both lenses has only strengthened my belief in what makes this community so special. Looking back at photographs like this, and reflecting on last week, I feel incredibly proud that the values, care and sense of community that made Polam such a wonderful place for my own children have continued to flourish for the children and families who are part of our school today.
Whilst we are unable to share outcomes at this stage, I could not be prouder of what the inspectors were able to see during their time with us and of the feedback they shared throughout the week.
Most importantly, I'm proud of our children, who simply carried on being themselves: curious, kind, resilient, and full of personality. I'm equally proud of our staff team whose professionalism, care, and dedication shone throughout a challenging week, and grateful to our families for your support, encouragement, and feedback throughout the inspection process.
Leading a school through inspection is never the achievement of one person. It is a reflection of an entire community, and last week was a reminder of just how special that community is at Polam.

Champion Crowned 🎾 👑
The Polam School Championship concluded today with a 10-6 victory by Devan in the final. Thank you Woolfy Tennis Sport for organising this!

Teddy bears and sunshine!
Our youngest children enjoyed a lovely Teddy Bears’ Picnic today, spending time outdoors with their furry friends whilst exploring the garden. There were lots of opportunities to stop, look closely and smell the wonderful flowers that have been lovingly planted and grown by the Polam team 😊💙

Happy 3rd Birthday to Ruby!
Whether she’s greeting children with a wagging tail, joint in on our specialist wellbeing lessons, or simply bringing smiles to everyone around the school, Ruby is a much loved member of the Polam family.
