Bringing opportunities to students at The Bedford Sixth Form 🎓

It was fantastic to see so many employers, organisations and community groups come together at The Bedford Sixth Form Freshers Fair yesterday.

The event gave students the opportunity to meet organisations, discover different career paths, ask questions and hear directly from people working across a wide range of sectors.

It was particularly great to catch up with our Employer Partners who joined us, sharing their experiences, advice and opportunities with students. Events like this play an important role in helping young people explore their options, build confidence and start thinking about their future.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a welcoming and engaging experience, including Link to Change, Center Parcs Ireland, John Lewis & Partners, bpha, Better, The Place Bedford, NatWest, SDC Builders, Bedford Giving and many more.

We really appreciate your continued support and commitment to helping our students understand the opportunities available to them. 🤝

Creative Industries Symposium

Delighted to be hosting our Creative Industries Symposium for The Bedford College Group today at The Bedford Sixth Form bringing together educators and employers to shape the future of creative curriculum.

Huge thanks to Creative UK and the brilliant Chris Slesser for helping us put this programme together, sharing invaluable insight on the macro policy landscape and the current and future skills needs shaping the Creative & Cultural Industries.

I'm Robin Webber-Jones, Executive Director of Curriculum at The Bedford College Group, and I'll be chairing our 10am panel, State of the Nation, alongside a fantastic line-up of employers sharing their perspectives on trends and developments across the sector. Huge thanks to our panellists for giving up their time:

🔹 Kylie Bryant, Senior Producer, CoStar National Lab
🔹 STUART GLOVER, Founder & Executive Director, Dancebox
🔹 Verity Davies (Assoc CIPD), Emerging Talent and Community Engagement Manager, Universal Destinations & Experiences

Looking forward to some really rich curriculum conversations as our teams get into breakout discussions this morning, exploring where our strengths are, where the opportunities for collaboration lie, and what we can take forward into our curriculum planning.
