National Recognition for Bedford Sixth Form Artists 🎨

We are incredibly proud of our talented Year 1 students, who have been specially selected to exhibit their work in this year's Sixth Form Colleges Association Art Exhibition.

The theme for this year's exhibition, "Artistes sans frontières – Artists Without Limits," challenged students to push beyond social labels, political ideologies and conventional norms. Our young artists responded with creativity, confidence and originality, producing thought-provoking work that celebrates freedom of expression.

Being selected for this national exhibition is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the talent, dedication and artistic vision of our students.

Congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved recognition, we can't wait to see your work showcased alongside students from across the country! 👏

Celebrating Outstanding Student Leadership at The Bedford Sixth Form 🌟

We are delighted to share that Sherelle Weeks, Student Union President at The Bedford Sixth Form, has been shortlisted for the Young Leader Award at the Aspire Awards.

This recognition reflects Sherelle's exceptional contribution to sixth form life and her commitment to creating a positive and inclusive community. Through her leadership, she has championed student voice, supported her peers and led initiatives that have strengthened community spirit, celebrated cultural diversity and encouraged greater engagement across the Sixth Form.

Alongside studying Law, Psychology and Sociology, Sherelle maintains an excellent academic record while mentoring younger students, providing revision support to her peers and representing The Bedford Sixth Form in competitions including Mock Trials.

🌍 Geography in the Field! 📍

Our A Level Geographers have just returned from an incredible two-day residential trip to FSC Flatford Mill 🏞️

Set in the stunning Suffolk countryside, our students rolled up their sleeves and got truly hands-on with real-world data collection, the kind of skills that textbooks alone just can't teach. From fieldwork techniques to analysing the landscape around them, they're now equipped to tackle their individual geographical reports with confidence.

Yesterday we held our Students’ Union Conference, bringing together student ambassadors, student leaders and Students’ Union representatives from across the Group to celebrate leadership and the student voice.

We were pleased to welcome Kheron Gilpin and his team, who supported the day by delivering engaging sessions focused on energising, engaging and empowering our students alongside our Student Engagement Team. Members of the current Students’ Union also shared their experiences, and we were delighted to welcome the newly appointed Students’ Union Executive and Leadership Team.

Careers Event at The Bedford Sixth Form 💼

Yesterday, The Bedford Sixth Form hosted a Careers Event, bringing together a wide range of employers and industry professionals to support and inspire our students.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to attend talks, explore employer stands in the Grand Hall, and gain valuable insight into different career pathways, industries and future opportunities.

Events like this play an important role in helping students connect their studies to the world of work, build confidence, and explore the many routes available to them after sixth form.

Voting for this year’s Students’ Union elections runs from 27th to 29th April, giving all learners the chance to have their say and shape student life across the Group.

Candidates have stepped forward for a range of roles, including:

Students’ Union Group President (Groupwide)
VP & Student Governor (Young People - Groupwide)

While nominations will reopen for some positions, it’s important that all students take this opportunity to vote for key roles, including Group President and VP & Student Governor (Young People).
