LADYBIRDS ๐Ÿž

Weโ€™ve welcomed some very special little visitors this week and are excited to learn all about the life cycle of the ladybird. ๐Ÿž

This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their understanding of caring for living creatures, discover how things grow and change, and explore early maths skills by counting the spots on the ladybirds.

We canโ€™t wait to watch these tiny creatures grow and transform over the coming weeks!

MINIBEASTS ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿชฒ๐Ÿœ & WORLD BEE DAY ๐Ÿ

Iโ€™ve been so quiet on here lately, but honestly life has just been so busy creating fun and exciting activities for the little ones that I completely forget to share what weโ€™ve been up to!

Over the past two weeks weโ€™ve been exploring minibeasts and celebrating World Bee Day ๐Ÿ

We enjoyed mark making in playdough with mini beasts, painting with bugs, and lots of hands-on sensory fun.

We also ventured out into the woods to see what minibeasts we could find and had a go at making our very own bug hotels. The children absolutely loved collecting leaves, pine cones, and sticks to fill them with before heading off on a big bug hunt. We spotted a few little creatures, although we think the ground was a little too dry to find many!

This week we celebrated World Bee Day with honey-scented playdough, which smelt amazing ๐Ÿฏ

The children then had a go at transferring the โ€œnectarโ€ from bowls into the honeycombs. This was a fantastic activity for developing pincer grip strength using pipettes, as well as practising hand-eye coordination.

Lots of fun had by all ๐Ÿ’›

Now Iโ€™m signing off for a week while I jet away with my family for some much-needed R&R โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘™

Itโ€™s been a while since I last posted here. Life always seems to be moving at 100mph, and the weeks just fly by.

Weโ€™ve been so busy having fun that I often forget to post, but Iโ€™ll really try to remember to share more often.

2026 arrived with plenty of ice and snow, so weโ€™ve been making the most of it with the little ones. The children have loved exploring the snow through sensory tuff trays, using a variety of different materials I set up for them. We also visited the snow dome to watch people snowboarding and skiing, and even made some edible snowballs together

Wow not quite sure where October went and it certainly whizzed by.

We hit November off by celebrating firework night, having a go at creating our own fireworks and I took my kids to a display

We then had celebrated rememberance day and told the children about how important it is and what the poppies mean. The children loved colouring their own poppies and had a go at creating them in playdoh.

We also visited the local school rememberance service which the children loved and were so well behaved at.

The week wasnโ€™t over without a trip to the zoo too. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜ the kids had the best time with all their friends and loved the giraffe putting its head in my car window ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿฆ’๐Ÿฆ’

Autumn. ๐Ÿ‚

We have loved looking at the changes in our world that autumn brings and finding all those autumn treasures.

We went on an autumn walk to find Conkers, levers, and pine cones. We explored our find in tuff trays, learning about them and filling and scopping.

We had a go at Conker painting and making paint brushes out of leaves and sticks to explore mark making.

We made our own little hedgehogs and autumn trees and explored some parks. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿฟ๏ธ

Wow what a term we have had. Itโ€™s been all
Systems go since September with little ones moving on to start school, new ones joining us and settling in. โค๏ธ

We have been looking at autumn and then the spooky season, with the kids having so much fun. We explored arts and crafts, been to the pumpkin patch, explored a spooky gloopy play doh. We took a trip the the woods where we read โ€œroom on a broomโ€ then had a go at making our own
Wands and potions.

Half term came along and we had even more Halloween fun where we went pumpkin carving, took a trip to Johnsonโ€™s crocodile farm for their spooky trail, throw the biggest Halloween party with heaps of spooky food and then finished it with trick or treating.

The kids have had such a blast and us adults enjoyed it all too ๐Ÿ˜‰

Itโ€™s moments like today that reminds me how grateful I am that I can get the children out to give them the best fun in our environment.

Pond dipping and rock painting today and every kid LOVED IT.

It reminds me of the importance of removing those 4 walls and appreciating what the world has to offer and what we learn from being outside.

Grateful that I get to give the children all these experiences before they are then sat In a classroom for years to come ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŽฃ

Well itโ€™s been a while since I have posted on here. Life is just so busy. We have been non stop this end, celebrating lots of different occasions, from Easter, to Motherโ€™s Day to birthdays. We have explored lots of different themes, been out and about and most importantly had a lot of fun.

Itโ€™s so lovely watching everyone grow, learn and make the best of friends.

Under the sea ๐ŸŒŠ ๐Ÿชผ๐Ÿข๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿš๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ ๐Ÿชธ

Last week we had the best time looking at sea creatures and all things under the sea. We had fun exploring all different animals, playing with sea shells in sand, making jellyfish ๐Ÿชผ and even decorating starfish biscuits.

We had a lovely visit from fred the tortoise ๐Ÿข and compared the differences between a turtle and tortoise.

We finished the week by exploring our favourite books about under the sea.
