We are incredibly proud of Daniel Hulatt, Programme Manager in Computing at Bedford College on his remarkable achievement in completing his personal challenge to walk the Great Wall of China. 🇨🇳👏

The challenge was more than just a physical journey. It was something Daniel had hoped to achieve for 23 years and, having faced significant challenges with his health along the way, completing the trek made the achievement even more meaningful.

Inspired by his family's own experiences and the support they have received from Great Ormond Street Hospital, Daniel took on the challenge to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Thanks to the generosity, encouragement and support of so many people, Daniel has raised an incredible £4,489. 👏

Congratulations, Daniel, on an incredible personal achievement and for raising such a fantastic amount for such an important cause. We’re proud to celebrate your journey and everyone who supported you along the way.

What a weekend it was at the Bedford River Festival!

We're taking a look back at some of the action from our fantastic Bedford College dragon boat racing team, who took to the river and gave it everything on the day. 💪

A massive well done to our team, who won three out of their four heats and came agonisingly close to reaching the semi-finals!

A huge thank you to all the Bedford College staff who got involved, supported the team and helped make it such a memorable day. 👏

And of course, thank you to all our employer partners and guests who joined us during the River Festival. It was fantastic to spend time together outside of the usual college environment and celebrate the brilliant community we are part of.

From supported internship to a new career! 👏

We're delighted to celebrate the fantastic success of Sophie Plummer, who has secured a part-time role at John Bunyan Sports & Fitness following a supported internship at the centre.

Sophie completed a 10-week placement earlier this year through the Bedford Borough Supported Internship Programme, gaining valuable hands-on experience across the soft play facilities, studios and sports hall.

With a keen interest in sport and working with children, Sophie was supported throughout her placement by centre staff, teachers and job coaches, with reasonable adjustments helping her to develop both personally and professionally.

Following the success of her internship, Sophie has now secured a part-time position at John Bunyan Sports & Fitness! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Sophie on securing her new role, and thank you to John Bunyan Sports & Fitness, GLL, Better and Bedford Borough Council for helping to make this opportunity possible.
