π’ Have Your Say on The Big Future
At The Bedford College Group, we believe every student should have the opportunity to shape the future.
That's why we're encouraging our students to take part in The Big Future, a national survey led by the Children's Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza.
The survey gives children and young people across England the chance to share their experiences, aspirations and priorities directly with decision-makers, helping to influence future policy and ensure young people's voices are heard on the issues that matter most to them.
Whether it's education, careers, wellbeing, communities or opportunities for the future, this is your chance to make a difference.
π£οΈ If you're a student at one of our colleges or sixth forms, we'd encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your views.
π Take part here: https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture
Your voice matters. Your future matters.

Celebrating Creativity & Collaboration in Sustainability π±
A huge thank you to all three teams who took part in the Cross College Pathways Sustainability Competition π
The competition was judged by myself alongside Dave Roffey, our College Sustainability Lead, and we were incredibly impressed by the outstanding standard of work across all entries. Each project clearly demonstrated studentsβ creativity, collaboration, and commitment to sustainability.
There were so many standout elements, from capturing the natural beauty of Bedford, to thoughtful design ideas and the innovative reuse of sustainable materials in practical ways. The effort and enthusiasm behind every submission truly shone through.
While it was a difficult decision, Central Bedfordshire College stood out as the overall winner. Their entry showcased excellent cross-department collaboration and delivered a vibrant, engaging piece that brought sustainability to life π
The winning team will receive a departmental certificate and a well-deserved pizza lunch ππ
Thank you again to all staff and students involved, weβre already looking forward to running the competition again in the future!

We were delighted to host a Supported Internship (SI) employer engagement event at Bedford College Group. π€
The event gave local employers the opportunity to learn more about Supported Internships - programmes designed to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) into sustainable, paid employment. Engagement on the day was excellent, with real enthusiasm for the positive impact these programmes can have.
It was fantastic to welcome employers including Centre Parcs and a local Leagrave-based gym, who have shown a keen interest in getting involved and supporting our students.
We were also pleased to hear from Victoria Phillips (ESS Compass Group) and Aaron Colbert (GLL Leisure), who shared their experiences as existing partners and highlighted the real difference Supported Internships have made within their organisations.
