Year 4 had a great time on their village walk, spending the day learning valuable compass and map-reading skills and putting their navigation abilities to the test. They were also lucky enough to spot some amazing wildlife, including a red kite and a deer! The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and couldn't wait to tell us all about their adventures when they returned.β¨

Our District and County Champions have proven that they are the best team in Bedfordshire! They secured impressive victories in the semi-final by 55 runs and in the county final by 47 runs, earning the right to represent Bedfordshire at the Regional Finals in Essex next month. A huge well done to the team on this phenomenal achievement, and a big thank you to the staff for their support throughout. Good luck in Essex! ππ

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our pupils who recently took part in The Open Welsh, an international taekwondo competition that attracts competitors from across the UK and other countries. He has been training with Proaction Martial Arts for almost five years and currently holds a blue stripe belt. He attended as part of the clubβs team and proudly represented England in his age, weight and belt category. Competitors took part in both Patterns (a sequence of taekwondo techniques performed with precision, balance and control) and Sparring (controlled one-to-one matches against opponents from other clubs and teams). He had an excellent competition and was delighted to win a bronze medal in Patterns and a silver medal in Sparring. A massive well done!π₯π₯

Another fantastic week at Great Denham parkrun! A huge well done to everyone who took part this week. Special congratulations to one of our pupils, who earned their wristband after completing 11 parkruns, the equivalent of a half marathon! Weβd also like to celebrate another pupil who gave their time as a parkrun volunteer, demonstrating great community spirit and helping to make the morning such a success. Weβre incredibly proud of both pupils, and of everyone who has attended a parkrun, for their commitment, enthusiasm, and achievements. Keep up the fantastic work!π

Well done everyone!β
A huge well done to all 145 juniors who ran, jogged or walked our 2km course today. It was brilliant to see so many smiling faces enjoying the sunshine and another fun-filled morning in the park! π³π
Today's highlights:
π 12 first-timers β and even better, all 12 were taking part in their very first ever junior parkrun! Welcome to the family β we hope to see you again soon!
π 31 PBs β fantastic running everyone!
π Milestones: Congratulations to Arthur, Trixie, Elaina, Henry, Jaiden & Emily, who all completed their 11th junior parkrun and earned their half marathon wristbands! Don't forget to collect them next time you're with us. ππ§‘
It was also wonderful to welcome lots of juniors (and plenty of parents, guardians and supporters!) from Great Ouse Primary Academy, for the school's sixth takeover. Thank you for bringing so much energy and enthusiasm β we hope you'll all be back again very soon! π
You may have spotted Irene busily counting adults this morning, all part of parkrun HQ's regular participation survey. With so many juniors zooming around and spectators moving about, it was a bit like trying to herd cats β thank you, Irene, for taking on the challenge! ππ
Finally, an extra big thank you goes to today's 31 amazing volunteers, including first-time volunteers Andrew and Rohan π¦Ίπ This week has been Volunteers' Week at parkrun, celebrating the incredible people who make our events possible every single Sunday. Keep an eye on our page later for a special post dedicated to all our wonderful volunteers and their contribution to parkrun. π§‘
Have a brilliant week everyone, and we'll see you next Sunday for another junior parkrun! π
