🔷📐 In Summer Term 2, Year 3 explored the fascinating world of 3D shapes! 📐🔷

🧩 The children investigated the properties of a range of 3D shapes by first completing a shape-sorting activity.

🏗️ They then put their knowledge into practice by constructing the shapes using straws and Blu Tack. This required careful thinking about the number of faces, edges and vertices to ensure each shape was built correctly.

💪 The activity called for great perseverance and resilience, as building the models was quite fiddly, but the children rose to the challenge brilliantly.

⭐ A fantastic hands-on maths lesson that developed problem-solving skills, teamwork and a deeper understanding of 3D shapes. Well done, Year 3!

🥪✨ In Summer Term 2, Year 3 enjoyed making sandwiches as part of their English learning! ✨🥪

📖 During their English lessons, the children learnt and practised the skills of writing clear instructions. They then applied their learning by writing their own step-by-step instructions for making a sandwich.

👩‍🍳 The children visited the cooking room, where they carefully followed their own instructions while developing important food preparation skills, including chopping, slicing and spreading.

😋 The best part? Everyone agreed that their homemade sandwiches were absolutely delicious!

👏 A fantastic opportunity to combine English with practical learning, while building confidence and independence.

🏕️ In Summer Term 2, our Year 3 children had an exciting Camp Night, and what an unforgettable experience it was! ✨

The children showed fantastic independence as they set up their own tents before diving into an evening packed with adventure. They put their survival skills to the test in a thrilling game, while teachers armed with water guns kept everyone on their toes! 💦

After enjoying a delicious fish and chip supper from the local chippy, everyone cooled off with ice lollies before trying their hand at archery and learning how to light a fire safely. The evening continued with toasted marshmallow s’mores, a silent disco, an energetic game of hide and seek, and, as darkness fell, stargazing with a warming cup of hot chocolate. There wasn’t much sleep, but there was certainly no shortage of fun!

The next morning, the children impressed us once again by packing away their own tents before taking on a daring bushtucker trial, where some brave participants even sampled mealworms! 🪱👏

It was a wonderful experience filled with teamwork, resilience, confidence and memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to Adventures Into for delivering such an engaging, well-organised and memorable experience. Your enthusiasm, expertise and encouragement helped make Camp Night such a fantastic success, and we are so grateful for everything you did! 🌟

💃🌟 Year 1 Take Part in the Royal Ballet and Opera's Dance for Rights Live Lesson 🌟🩰

Recently, Year 1 took part in the Royal Ballet and Opera's Dance for Rights live lesson! 🎭

Through a series of engaging dance workshops, the children explored the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, learning about their rights while expressing themselves through movement and creativity. 🌍✨

The session culminated in a fantastic final dance, giving every child the opportunity to showcase what they had learned. It was a wonderful experience that combined creativity, confidence and an important message about children's rights. 💙👏

Well done to all of our amazing Year 1 dancers! ⭐💃

☀️🎨 Summer Creativity at Art Club! 🎨☀️

In Summer Term 2, the children in Art Club were busy creating beautiful summer-inspired artwork! 🌼

They learned how to blend colours to create vibrant sunset backgrounds before exploring a range of painting techniques to add flowers and winding stems. 🌅🌸

To complete their masterpieces, the children designed and painted their own butterflies and dragonflies onto acetate. 🦋🐉 Adding the acetate created a fantastic 3D effect, making the insects appear as though they were fluttering across the page.

The children showed wonderful creativity, patience and artistic skill throughout the project, and they should all be incredibly proud of their fantastic artwork. 💛👏🎨

🧲🔬 Our Young Scientists In Year 1 Have Been Busy! 🌟

Our young scientists have been investigating magnets in their Science lessons! 🧪

The children explored the classroom to discover which materials are magnetic and which are not. 🧲 They tested a range of objects, made predictions, and carefully recorded their findings, developing their scientific enquiry skills every step of the way. ✍️🔍

It was a fantastic hands-on lesson, full of curiosity, exploration, and discovery! 🌟 We loved seeing the children ask questions, investigate, and learn through practical experiences.
