"Motorsport is the ultimate team sport. If sharing my journey helps make this industry feel more accessible to young engineers from underrepresented backgrounds, then I’m proud to use my platform for that purpose."
As we approach International Women in Engineering Day on 23 June, current Motorsport student and FIA Scholar, Sanya Jain, shares her experience of navigating the motorsport industry as a woman and international student, and why representation matters.
"As an Indian woman in motorsport, representation carries real weight for me. When I was younger, I didn’t see many women, let alone women of South Asian origin, in high-performance engineering roles.
"Cranfield has reinforced the importance of asking questions, staying humble, and always striving to learn. Those values will stay with me throughout my career."

What happens when supply chain theory leaves the classroom and meets the real world?
For students on our MSc Logistics and Procurement & Supply Chain Management programme, our annual study tour provides exactly that opportunity.
In his latest blog, Zaheer Samuel reflects on the Manchester study tour, where students visited organisations including Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK, Mercedes-Benz, JD com and the Etihad Stadium to explore how supply chains operate across manufacturing, fulfilment, service logistics and major events.
From lean production and automation to inventory availability and demand responsiveness, the experience helped bring classroom concepts to life through direct industry exposure.
Read Zaheer's reflections on the Manchester study tour and discover how Cranfield School of Management students connect academic learning with operational practice.
