🐛🕷️ Minibeast Adventures ! 🐞🦋

Last week we went on a mini beast adventure filled with exploring, discovering and lots of learning! 🌿🔍

Our babies became little minibeast rescuers, freeing insects trapped under tape, strengthening their fine motor and problem-solving skills. We learned new vocabulary as we named different insects and explored their appearance through minibeast books. 📚🐞. We also enjoyed our shaving foam spider web tuff tray, ball pit fun and singing Incy Wincy Spider! 🎶🕸️

Our toddlers & preschoolers headed into the garden for an exciting insect hunt, using magnifying glasses to discover what we could find. We used our early maths skills to count legs, spots and stripes on the mini beasts we found! 🐜🔎. We got creative with caterpillar paintings using sponges, enjoyed bubble play in the garden and searched for minibeasts hiding in our soil tuff tray. 🌱🐛🫧

To finish our minibeast fun, we all made our very own ladybird cakes with our on-site chef! 🐞🧁 The children learned about the different ingredients and measurements needed for cooking, developing their maths, language and practical skills along the way.

Holiday Club – Week 2 at Goldington! ✨🌞

What another fantastic week of fun, learning and exploration!

Our babies enjoyed a range of sensory-rich activities, exploring treasure baskets filled with shiny objects and getting hands-on with our ice cream sensory tuff tray complete with scoops and sprinkles! 🍦✨They loved making music with different instruments 🎶, as well as colour sorting and stacking different objects. In our sand and sea tuff tray, the children explored different animals and created their own sandy handprint artwork – all while developing and learning lots of new vocabulary! 🐚🦀🐳

The garden has been full of energy and excitement! Our toddlers and preschoolers took part in physical activities using hoops, beanbags and obstacle courses - building their coordination and confidence 🏃. Water play was a big hit as they poured and explored using different sized containers, introducing early scientific language 💦.
Indoors, creativity flowed at our arts and crafts table 🎨 with colourful painting and practising colouring carefully within the lines. The children also loved getting hands-on with cloud dough ☁️, crumbling and remoulding it to strengthen their fine motor skills.

Learning goes far beyond the nursery walls 🌳

☀️ What a fantastic first week of Holiday Club at Blue Orkids! 🌈

Our babies have enjoyed a week full of sensory exploration and fun. They have been sorting coloured balls, completing puzzles to develop their fine motor skills and exploring a blue oobleck and shaving foam tuff tray to discover how vehicles make different marks 🚙☁️. They also used a variety of musical instruments while listening along to their favourite nursery rhymes. 🎶 Our little explorers set sail on our cardboard pirate ship, encouraging creativity and imaginative play, learnt the names of different farm animals through sensory play and finished the week enjoying a fun and messy cupcake tuff tray🐴🧁.

Our toddlers and preschool children have been busy practising their colouring and pencil control, getting creative with playdough, and making the most of the sunshine with outdoor water and sand play 💦🌤️. They worked together to complete obstacle courses, created their own Blue Orkids passports and discussed what they would take with them on holiday 🧳🏖️. They also enjoyed child-led free play, took part in exciting parachute games, decorated their own pirate ship and finished the week with a fun science experiment. They used baking soda and lemon juice, learning new scientific vocabulary, making predictions and observing the exciting reactions👩🏻🔬🧪.

What a brilliant start to Holiday Club! We can't wait to see what adventures next week brings. 💙
