What a fantastic week we've had celebrating our wonderful children during All About Me Week! ❤️

Throughout the week, the children have enjoyed exploring what makes them unique and special. We've been talking about our families, our favourite things, our interests, and the people who are important to us.

These activities have encouraged lots of conversations, confidence building, and opportunities for the children to share their experiences with their friends.

📖 We've enjoyed looking at family photographs and discussing who lives in our homes.

🎨 The children have created self-portraits, exploring their features and celebrating what makes them special.

👫 We've talked about our similarities and differences, promoting kindness, respect, and an appreciation for diversity.

💭 Children have shared their favourite toys, foods, colours, activities, and future aspirations, leading to some wonderful discussions and imaginative play opportunities.

📚 Story times have focused on themes of identity, belonging, friendships, and emotions, helping children develop their understanding of themselves and others.

🌈 We've explored our feelings through circle times, games, creative activities, and role play, encouraging children to express themselves confidently.

🏃♂️ Outdoor learning has provided opportunities for teamwork, friendship building, and celebrating individual achievements as the children worked together and supported one another. It has been wonderful to see the children taking pride in who they are, learning more about their friends, and developing a stronger sense of belonging within our nursery community. A huge thank you to all of our families who contributed photographs, information, and special memories to help make this week so meaningful for the children.

We are incredibly proud of all the children and have loved learning more about the amazing individuals they are! ❤️

🌙✨ Eid al-Adha Week at Blue Orkids) ✨🌙

Last week, our children have been learning about Eid al-Adha through a range of fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities.

📚 We enjoyed sharing stories and talking about how families celebrate Eid al-Adha around the world. The children explored themes of kindness, generosity, friendship, and helping others, encouraging meaningful discussions and understanding of different cultures and traditions.

🎨 Our little learners got creative with Eid-themed arts and crafts, making colourful decorations, crescent moons, stars, and beautiful patterns inspired by Islamic art. They also used playdough to create their own festive designs, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills through rolling, squeezing, and shaping.

👐 Sensory activities were a big hit, with the children exploring different textures, colours, and materials while developing their communication and imaginative play skills. We also enjoyed mark-making, construction activities, and group games that promoted teamwork and cooperation.

🌟 Throughout the week, we celebrated the importance of respect, inclusion, and learning about the traditions of others. It has been wonderful to see the children's curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm as they explored this special celebration.

🌟 A Busy Week at Blue Orkids 🌟

Two weeks ago, our children had been exploring both Shavuot and Road Safety Week through a variety of exciting, hands-on activities.

📖 As part of our Shavuot learning, the children enjoyed listening to stories, discussing traditions, and taking part in creative activities inspired by the celebration. They used playdough to create flowers and nature-themed designs, explored sensory materials, and expressed their creativity through arts and crafts.

🚦 During Road Safety Week, we focused on helping the children understand how to stay safe when out and about. Through role play, small-world activities, road-themed play mats, and discussions about traffic lights, zebra crossings, and holding hands with trusted adults, the children learned important road safety messages in a fun and engaging way.

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious, and eager to learn through play.
