Such a beautiful day to be in the woods doing sessions for Marston Vale Forest School today. Even had time to practice whittling a tiny mushroom keyring 😊 🍄

This is oak artichoke gall. It is caused by a parthenogenetic gall wasp which lays a single egg within a leaf bud, which then produces the gall.

Beautiful day doing forest birthday parties for Marston Vale Forest School 😊💚🥳

We’ve had lots of fun this week doing family fun sessions 😊💚

Well I managed to lose my sunflowers and pumpkins that we planted at forest school. Sunflowers were too leggy and snapped and my pumpkin plants became a feast for the slugs. BUT I’ve managed to keep the tomato, cucumber and runner bean plants my neighbour gave me alive and producing some lovely crops 😊👏🏻🤩

I was working for Marston Vale Forest School yesterday doing holiday club. One of the children spotted this beautiful caterpillar 🐛 😍. It will pupate into a privet hawk moth. Nature is amazing 🤩
