Last week was a big week for our wonderful Year 6 children, as they took their SATs tests. They have worked so hard in the build up and conducted themselves brilliantly in all the tests.
The children celebrated on Thursday with our traditional champagne (lemondade!) celebration, followed by an afternoon of chilling!
Well done year 6. We are so proud of you all!

This week in Forest School we have been celebrating David Attenborough's 100th birthday. Children drew pictures of him and made his face out of mud, as well as mud birthday cakes. Additionally, children made their own documentary episodes.

Both Lions and Zebras classes had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a rugby assembly and taster session yesterday.
We welcomed Bedford Blues Charity trust members, Ed Rhodes and Ilan Evans (current professional player) to school for an assembly and motivational talk and then some great fun on the pitch learning games and rugby skills from the pros. The pupils had an amazing time and many of them expressed an interest in possibly being able to do this as a school club. So watch this space!

Its been a busy term in forest school. Lots of the children have enjoyed a hot chocolate or a warm orange squash, using the Kelly Kettle to boil the water over a fire! We have also been bird watching, doing lots of tree hugging for children's mental health week and lots of the usual forest school fun.

As the weather improves (hopefully) please can all children bring a long sleeved top, leggings/tracksuit bottoms and their wellies. This is to protect their arms and legs from scratches and bites.

There will be no forest school on the 14th April. Forest school will return on the 21st April.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

Day 2 still saw us with a round robin of more exciting and adventurous activities to challenge our strength and determination and bravery. It was a day fuelled by fun and good food.....at least most thought so by how hungry they were and how much they gobbled up. We were very windswept but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm or fun. We had a pyjama party and movie night and another great, pretty early night.....not surprisingly they were shattered after everything we've done. We have one more morning of activities......including packing and un-making our rooms. The weather was mostly dry but get ready your children have all brought you a good lot of souvenir Grafham mud! They've been such fun to see challenge themselves, grow in independence, making new friends and push themselves in ways they never thought possible. In spite of the fun, they've all missed you and are ready to come home. See you at 2pm....get ready for the mud, the stories and probably some very exhausted little angels.

An update from everyone at Grafham Water:

Hello everyone! First day......and night down. We've had great fun so far. We're all settled in to our rooms.....and some of your little angels can even make their beds (well done parents...and now you know they can, hopefully they will at home). We had great fun climbing walls, poles and crates, building rafts and doing the Grafham challenge in the dark. We've seen new friendships forming and tons of kindness and teamwork from all of them. And more bravery to overcome all kinds of individual challenges than you can believe. We couldn't be prouder of them!! We had a reasonably settled bedtime and not much fuss....it was even fairly early but that meant an early start for most. What were you doing from 5.00sh this morning 😁? We're just getting ready for breakfast and another fun filled day....we'll keep you posted

Before Half term, Monkey Class had a wonderful time celebrating Lunar New Year. The children made their very own dragon head and proudly performed a fantastic dragon dance for everyone to see!
To finish our celebrations, we enjoyed tasting some delicious Chinese food – it was a big hit and lots of us discovered new flavours we loved!

Well done, Monkey Class! 🎉
