Claire's Guitar Lessons

Congratulations 👏 I am delighted to say that James and Oscar have passed their grade 4 exams both with merits! James took Trinity classical guitar grade 4, and Oscar took LCM Acoustic guitar grade 4.
I wanted to upload short clips of both, but fb has decided otherwise, so here are pics instead, videos to follow later maybe.

These were both digital recorded exams, a way of taking exams introduced during covid. It’s less stressful for students as everything is recorded in their lesson environment. Quite stressful for me though as each exam board has its own different list of requirements for the recording including introductions, books being in view, student sitting positions all of which is my responsibility to get right. 🙂

I went to see him with my brother at London Hammersmith Odeon (I think!) many years ago - his son Jack had just been born and he brought him out on stage at the end. Brilliant gig, wonderful memory. RIP Ozzy 🖤

Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family has announced.

It’s always very sweet to receive a gift from a student at the end of their guitar learning path with me, and these are spectacular! Thank you and well done Tom, you’ve achieved much during these past few years. 🙂

A good article. One of the areas it only briefly mentions is the technical side of theatre - that is, lighting and sound, both of which are great career paths for musically minded people

I haven’t posted music for ages, but I had the pleasure of seeing Toby Lee at Bedford Esquires back in October, he’s a brilliant and intuitive blues and rock guitarist and I recommend going to see him next year when (hopefully) he returns.
