A HUGE congratulations to the Year 5 rounders team who smashed their tournament, winning every game in their pool & then the final!🥇🏆Results: RBA vs Arnold = 7.5-4.5, RBA vs Henlow = 10-3 & RBA vs Etonbury = 9.5-3.5🎉 Final = RBA vs Holywell = 9.5-5!🥳 The team have all been working so hard to learn the rules & have been dedicated to coming to practice (which hasn’t been easy because of the rain)! They demonstrated not only brilliant knowledge, but also some fabulous team spirit! VERY PROUD OF ALL OF YOU & very much deserved!💪 Coaches Players of the Tournament: Albie (fantastic catching on 1st, stumping out multiple players & having excellent game sense, plus great resilience), Ben (insane level of batting), Eva (outstanding at backstop & got so many players out, with her quick, accurate throw to 1st, plus excellent batting), Harrison (outstanding bowling - ZERO points given away - WOW), Harry (superb batting & wonderful sportsmanship) & Jackson (very strong fielding in every aspect)!🤩

The year 7 cricket team finally kicked off their competitions in very warm conditions at Pixbrook this evening. The only thing hotter than the air temperature was their sizzling performance. With a mixture of experienced hard ball cricketers and some players completely new to the game, Bloomfield scored 94 runs in 10 overs. Their fielding was equally impressive, with special mentions to Sol for taking his first wicket and George holding a stint as wicket keeper. A fantastic win for the boys. Well done to everyone involved

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all of the spectators who came to watch and support our amazing students!

Congratulations to our KS2 cricket team who came away as Plate Winners in the County tournament at Kempston. The team had an outstanding day in the field. They bowled, caught and ran out many wickets but were unfortunately slow with their batting in the first two games where they lost narrowly and had a lesson in marginal gains. They rectified this in their third game and played some outstanding cricket to win the semi final by 50 runs. The boys had relaxed and, despite pacy bowling, were starting to hit their boundaries. The final was a tight affair as RBA batted strongly and had to really work hard in the field to win by 12 runs. Everyone played their part with lots of accurate bowling, athletic catches and stops and, in the end, some great footwork and confident batting. Every player made progress despite weather raining off their previous fixtures. A great day out with a fun, energetic group of students who showed wonderful sportsmanship throughout.

Yesterday afternoon, it was time for the year 6 rounders tournament. They also absolutely smashed it & have retained their title from last year, winning all of their pool games & the final!🥇🏆 Results: RBA vs Alameda B = 7.5-4, RBA vs Arnold = 8.5-1.5 & RBA vs Henlow = 12.5-4.5🤩 They played Alameda in the final & the nerves were showing! RBA batted first & only scored 5 rounders - they didn’t know the score, but they knew they had to field the best they could to win & they did just that!!! After a very shaky first round of fielding, where Alameda scored 1 rounder & half for obstruction by RBA, the team knew they had to focus to win. After the shaky start, only half a rounder was given away in 17 balls, which was for obstruction, bringing Alameda’s total to 2! This was the best demonstration of performing under pressure in rounders I have witnessed & they are only 10 & 11 years old!😳

🤩 'Unreal' is the only word to describe what this incredible group of KS3 athletes has accomplished in the ESAA Track and Field Cup this season.

After winning the first round against schools across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, both our boys' and girls' teams qualified for the Regional A Finals in Nuneaton. Going into the regionals, we knew the calibre of opposition we were facing- we were up against some of the most prestigious, powerhouse sports schools in the Midlands. Our athletes didn't let this phase them. For weeks, these students have been working their socks off. They’ve given up lunchtimes, pushed through extra training sessions, and even soaked up some top-tier coaching from Bedford & County Athletic Club coaches.

When it came to competition day, they left absolutely nothing on the track and in the field. We saw countless individual PB's shattered as students pushed themselves to their absolute limits, showing outstanding grit and determination. The team spirit was unmatched, with athletes supporting each other throughout, highlighting the positive culture they are a part of.

The boys racked up a massive 455 points, placing 3rd in the Midlands. The girls secured a phenomenal 392 points, placing 4th in the Midlands. We haven’t seen point tallies this high in years.

To walk into a regional final against schools of that stature and walk out occupying the top spots in the Midlands is a massive statement. It is a testament to the passion, dedication, and pure work ethic of this team.

We could not be prouder of you all. What a journey, from start to finish- over both rounds. Well done to you all!

An amazing effort tonight by some of our KS2 athletes. They took to Etonbury to compete in a league fixture and they performed fantastically well both as teams and individuals over the track and field! Well done to you all 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
