It was a busy day at our Campus last week with over 200 attending the BASES Experience Day 💪🏼🏃🏾‍♀️🏋️‍♀️

We hosted various sessions throughout the day, which included live ECG testing 📈, using our SmartSpeed training and timing system💨, exercising in our Environmental Chamber 🚴🏽‍♂️ and examining Apetite and Exercise in our Biomechanics Lab 👟🍔

This event was held as part of the national BASES Poster Competition, run by The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) in collaboration with 🏀⚽️🏈

🏃🏻Playing against on Saturday, 12 October, our Sports alumni, James Petty, and BA Football Lecturer, Tim Sergeant, helped coach the team up to the 4th and final qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup 🏆🙌🏼

Biggleswade FC was formed just 8 years ago, and last week went up against York City F.C. - a team that once made it to the semi-finals where they famously knocked out Arsenal F.C. in the mid-1980s 🥇

On Tuesday with we hosted an amazing Football Tournament at Kenilworth Road where we were joined by hundreds of students from local schools & colleges alongside some of our applicants & current students! 🙌⚽️

As well as the football tournament everyone joining us also had the opportunity to explore the home of LTFC, take part in sport science activities & find out more about studying sport at university! 💬🎓

Those wonderful snapshots represent SSPA BSc Dissertation Poster Conference held on Friday 3rd of May.
It was a great time for our graduating students to show off their hard work and receive recognition.

Our students and staff also had a chance to hear the keynote speaker of the event Jourdain Benstead-Banthorpe, who is alumnus of our university, and shared his experience with postgraduation, working in elite sport (Cambridge Rugby and Royal Ballet), teaching in higher education (University of Bedfordshire and St Mary’s University) and running his own business as an S&C coach.

hosted their annual Sport Awards on Wednesday 17th April at the Bedford Blue Rugby Club. The night was filled of all the years sporting achievements with special guests Juliet Fern and Julie Brunton.
