🏛️ **Maths at the Acropolis!**

Did you know the ancient Greeks used sophisticated mathematics when building the Acropolis in Athens?

🔹 The famous Parthenon is approximately **69.5 metres long** and **30.9 metres wide**, giving a length-to-width ratio of about **2.25:1**.

🔹 Its columns aren't perfectly straight! They have a slight outward curve called **entasis**, a geometric technique used to make them appear straight to the human eye.

🔹 The floor and roof contain subtle curves rather than being perfectly flat. Ancient architects used mathematical calculations to correct optical illusions.

🔹 The Parthenon originally had **8 columns across the front** and **17 along each side**. Notice the pattern? The ratio **17:8 ≈ 2.125**, creating a visually balanced design.

🔹 Geometry was central to Greek architecture. Builders carefully used symmetry, proportion, and measurement to create structures that still impress us over 2,400 years later.

📐 Maths Challenge: If a rectangle has the same dimensions as the Parthenon (69.5 m × 30.9 m), what is its area?
