Volunteers needed!
We are currently looking for parents and friends of the school to expand our number of volunteers. Volunteering can provide excellent experience if you are looking to expand your skills and make a contribution to our school. If you have some spare time that you would be willing to donate, please read the information below:
What would volunteering involve? - Volunteering can take different forms depending on your skills and interest:
• Helping the class teacher through supporting students (reading with individuals, practising specific targets e.g. spelling/mathematics)
• Taking part in administrative tasks (photocopying/filing, creating displays and resources).
• At times we are also looking for individuals with specific skills or experiences (e.g. sport/music/arts and crafts/tradesmen who may be able to work with a class on short-term projects.)
Do I need to be able to speak Welsh? - Obviously, being able to speak Welsh would be beneficial but is not essential. If you have some knowledge of Welsh, or if your Welsh has become “rusty”, volunteering at Castellau is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills!
How much time would I need to give? - This is entirely up to you, however we do ask that notice is given so that class teachers can plan accordingly. Generally, volunteers tend to visit for a couple of hours a week.
How do I volunteer? - All volunteers would need a DBS check (the school will do this for you free of charge).

Angen gwirfoddolwyr!
Rydym wrthi’n chwilio am rieni a ffrindiau’n ysgol gall wirfoddoli peth o’u hamser i helpu yn yr ysgol. Mae gwirfoddoli’n cynnig profiadau gwerthfawr os ydych wrthi’n edrych i ehangu’ch sgiliau tra hefyd yn cyfrannu’n uniongyrchol at ein hysgol. Darllenwch yr isod os oes gennych ddiddordeb.
Beth byddaf yn ei wneud? - Rydym yn hapus i drafod eich sgiliau personol wrth drefnu hyn. Yn gyffredinol mae gwirfoddoli’n cynnyws:
• Gweithio gydag unigolion (darllen ychwanegol neu ymarfer targedau personol e.e. sillafu/mathemateg).
• Helpu’r athro/wes ddosbarth gyda gwaith gweinyddol (paratoi adnoddau, llungopio/ffeilio).
• Rydym hefyd yn edrych yn achlysurol am unigolion gyda sgiliau penodol (chwaraeon/cerddoriaeth/celf/crefftwyr) i weithio gyda dosbarthiadau ar brosiectau byr dymor.
Oes rhaid fy mod yn gallu siarad Cymraeg? - Yn amlwg bydd hyn yn fuddiol, ond nid yw’n anghenrheidiol. Os ydych yn dysgu’r Gymraeg neu wedi colli gafael arni, dyma’r cyfle perffaith i’w hymarfer!
Faint o amser oes angen rhoi? - Mae hyn yn hollol ddibynnol ar beth allech gynnig. Fel arfer mae’n gwirfoddolwyr yn ymweld am gwpl o oriau bob wythnos.
Sut allaf wirfoddoli? - Bydd angen i bob un sy’n gwirfoddoli cael gwiriad DBS (bydd yr ysgol yn trefnu ac yn talu am hwn).
Os oes gennych ddidordeb, plis llenwch y daflen sydd wedi’i hatodi, neu fel arall dewch ataf am sgwrs anffurfiol.
