💦☀️ Stay Safe Around Water This Summer ☀️💦
As you enjoy the summer holidays, please take a moment to talk to your child about staying safe around water. Whether at the beach, swimming pool, river or lake, adult supervision and sensible choices can help keep everyone safe.

Cold water shock is the body’s natural physical reaction to sudden immersion in cold water. The response is immediate and can lead to drowning.

Thank you, Friends of Mowbray! ☀️🎪
A huge thank you to our amazing Friends of Mowbray (PTFA) for organising such a fantastic Summer Fair at our Ripon site yesterday.
A special thank you to our Co-Chairs, Nicola and Jasmin, who have been a real driving force behind getting the PTFA up and running this year. The time, energy and hard work they put into the fair was incredible.
Thank you also to all of the colleagues who took part in Splat the Teacher – it was great fun and certainly proved to be a popular attraction!
We are so grateful to everyone who helped, volunteered, donated and attended. It was a lovely end to the year. 💙

🌟Belated Class of the Week-Swan Class!🌟

The Swan Class has been working very hard this week! We visited The Millings Care home to play some games. We also celebrated at The Little Troopers Event and had so much fun. We have also been continuing with our targets and making fantastic progress!

Proud to be supporting our military-connected children through the Little Troopers at School programme. 💜

Proud to be supporting our military-connected children through the Little Troopers at School programme. 💜

We love hearing from schools that have adopted our Little Troopers at School programme to support their military-connected pupils.

Mowbray Academy recently sent us this fantastic photo of their Little Troopers Team and we absolutely love it! We hope all of your military children are enjoying the resources, activities and initiatives available through the programme.

Don't forget that your school can access a wide range of military-specific resources and initiatives designed to support the military children in your setting. We always love seeing your photos, so please do keep sharing them with us!

A quick reminder: If you're creating any branded items using Little Troopers logos or images, please ask for our approval first, as these are protected by copyright.

Next week we invite you to join an information event run by Claire Stirland from Sensory Worx. This will be held at our Bedale site on Tuesday 14th July at 10.30am.
Sensory Worx is a leading Sensory Developmental Occupational Therapy service providing support throughout the North of England. Claire (Clinical Lead OT) will provide an introduction to the impact of sensory developmental needs on learners with developmental differences and neurodiversity. Often young people with sensory needs respond differently to their experiences than their age related peers. Understanding why those responses and behaviour happen and how to interpret them can support the emotional wellbeing of the young person and their whole family.
There will be an opportunity to share your experiences and ask questions specific to your situation.
The session will be recorded so it will be made available to those who can't attend.
We look forward to welcoming you to this information session.
A Forms questionnaire will be sent out shortly, please reply to confirm your attendance.
Many Thanks

🌞 Jay class had a fantastic time making summer picnic food with Michelle Dearlove, Local Family Chaplain at Bedale Church. The pupils enjoyed getting hands-on in the kitchen, developing their cooking skills and preparing some delicious picnic treats. Thank you, Michelle, for spending time with us and supporting such a fun and engaging activity! 🍓🥪🧁

Hello families,

Once again parts of the country are due to experience a heatwave that may mean excessively high temperatures for rest of this week.
We encourage children and young people to wear loose, light and comfortable clothing to keep cool

We recommend that children and young people bring hats, have sun-cream applied before they come to school and bring water bottles into school which can be re-filled in school.

We will be doing all we can to keep classroom temperatures down during this time and keep the children and young people out of direct sunshine.

This link contains useful information about how to stay safe during a heatwave https://www.nhs.uk/.../heatwave-how-to-cope-in-hot-weather/.
