Early years foundation stage We are open Monday to Thursday 08.30 to 16.00 and Friday 09.00-13.00 and can provide a variety of sessions to suit your needs.

We run a holiday club when numbers allow. We operate fully inclusive practice and are nappy friendly. Between our dedicated members of staff we have over 100 years experience in child care and education. We pride ourselves on providing personalised care and education to every child that attends our setting, regardless of age or ability in a safe and happy environment.

Much summer fun 🤩 was had this week. The children were learning new circus 🎪 skills and absolutely loved it 🥰
They all made treasure boxes 🗃️ last week and bought a treasure from home in it to show their friends this week, it was lovely seeing them share their special things ♥️
The children made biscuits 🍪for their dads (the jury is out on if any dads got to eat them! Haha) They also made petal 🌺 sun catchers and used their fine motor skills for cutting ✂️ up flowers. 🌹 as well as enjoying plenty of messy play in the tuff trays, mud kitchen and water 💦 station.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads past and present and those no longer with us. X###

We had some new resources delivered this week. We’ve upgraded the mud kitchen, got a new water 💧 station and outdoor picnic bench and are developing a music 🎵 wall!! The children have enjoyed them all immensely. They’ve also enjoyed painting 🎨 on a junk model board and planted some herbs 🪴 in the tyre to use in the mud kitchen. The children have had fun with the parachute 🪂 and enjoyed making slime 🫟.

The children took part in lots of sensory exploration this week. The tuff trays have included a frozen sand castle, straw and dinosaurs 🦖, lemon 🍋 and lime 🍋‍🟩 potions, oobleck 🫟, expanding worms 🪱 and playdoh.
We’ve started to look at the season of summer 🌞 and so the children used pipettes to decorate their ice creams 🍦, we turned the home corner into a travel 🧳 agents and they played a game of packing my suitcase 🧳.
They also re-potted the potatoes 🥔 that they’ve been growing in the garden and enjoyed painting 🎨 in various ways and places!!
They also took part in a listening 👂 activity, where they had to hear and not see an instrument 🥁 and pick the right one, which they were so good at.
We have had a case of chicken pox this week, so watch for spots!! 🐓🔴.

The children spent a lovely week, finishing off our minibeast theme 🐞.
They weaved their own spider webs 🕸️ , sponge printed caterpillars 🐛 and explored the worms 🪱 (red spaghetti) in the mud in the tuff tray. They enjoyed splashing 💦 about in the water in the hot 🥵 weather, helped to water 🚿 our herbs 🪴 and enjoyed snack and stories 📖 under the shade of the tree 🌴
The children also enjoyed a variety of role play all led by them. We had a hairdressers 💇 and a building site 🧱 and they also enjoyed a self led game of roll the ball 🥎
We did an activity on emotions where the children made an emotion dial, which they could use to show how they’re feeling 😃 😔
Next week is half term. We start back week commencing Monday 1st June.🤩

This week the children have enjoyed a mini beast 🐞 music 🎵 session and made some bumblebee 🐝 biscuits 🍪
They’ve explored flax seeds on the tuff tray, a fairy 🧚‍♀️ land and splatting 🫟 shaving foam on the lily pads.
They took part in a mini beast 🐛 yoga 🧘 session and had lots of fun with some ballot stations, making a boat 🚤 and houses 🏠.
They also took part in an activity around emotions, where they had to guess the emotion 😊 😔 and then draw ✍🏼 them on the cut out people.
They really enjoyed watching and playing in the hail on Thursday! ⛈️

What a wonderful week 🤩 we continued learning about mini beasts 🐞 🐜 and had a very exciting visit from Angie’s curious creatures! The children were very brave, adventurous and kind with the creatures 🐍, we were so proud of them 😍
They also made ladybird 🐞 masks and explored various tuff trays, including cereal 🥣 and cloud dough.
Today we celebrated Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday with a land and sea 🌊 animals 🦈 🐄 theme and the children used collage to decorate cakes 🎂 for him.

A mixed bag of learning activities this week. The children played the ring game “there’s a bug 🐛 in the rug”. They enjoyed several self chosen board games 🎲 and made robots 🤖 with the junk modelling.
They enjoyed a spring 🌺 sensory tuff tray, a dinosaur 🦕 tuff tray and planting 🌱 tuff tray.
The children made paper plate bees 🐝 and enjoyed washing 🚿 the cars 🚗 in the sunshine as well as, as always using the resources they choose with their friends to make up role-play games, which is always so lovely 🥰 to listen 👂 to and watch 👁️.
There was much excitement today when a tractor 🚜 came to cut the field behind us.

We carried on with learning about minibeasts this week 🐜 🐛. As well as celebrating Earth 🌏 day and St. George’s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 day. The children made dragons 🐉 and painted red and white pasta. They marble rolled earth 🌍, and explored a natural world tuff tray. Made caterpillars 🐛 and explored the bugs 🐞 in the garden. There was as always plenty of time for free play, such as doctors 🥼 and camping ⛺️, water 💦 play and building with the bricks 🧱 to name a few.
We’ve also started talking to the older children about their new big schools 🏫.
Another great week of fun and leaning.

The first week back after Easter 🐣 has flown by. We’ve started looking at minibeasts 🐜 🕷️. The children each designed a plate to make up a big caterpillar 🐛, used minibeast 🐌 stencils and explored the minibeasts in leaves 🍃 and flowers 🌹 with the magnifying glasses 🔍 they also worked hard to screw up newspaper 🗞️ into a big black bag to make a big spider 🕷️
It struck me while I was editing the photos how many smiles 😊 were on the children’s faces, it’s so amazing to see them learn and play with so much joy and enthusiasm 🤩
We also welcomed Emma back to our team on Thursday and she’s settled straight back in. It’s lovely to have her back 🥰

Lots of creative fun 🤩 and learning this week. Using their fine motor skills. The children weaved egg 🥚 shapes, and used pipettes with paint 🎨 to decorate a large egg. They took part in an egg hunt in the garden and decorated bunny 🐰 shapes with shaving foam mixed with paint!
They had fun in the hall with the parachute 🪂 and explored different tuff trays, with flowers 🌺 and coloured water, and finding the chicks 🐣 with tweezers in the Easter themed tray.
Yesterday the children made rice crispy cakes for the family fun morning and sports day today. The children all did so well with the races and received a medal 🥇 We didn’t get any pics of this morning as were all having too much fun, Thankyou all for coming and for our Easter treats!
Have a lovely Easter 🐣 break and we’ll see you back week commencing Tuesday 14th April! 😍
