Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and the services I can provide.
My name is Dr Jenny Smith, and I completed my PhD studies in Chemistry last year at the University of East Anglia. I first began tutoring when studying for my A-levels, and continued to teach throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. I have always had a great passion for learning, and I aim to encourage students in their own education through a friendly, patient and adaptable service.
As a seasoned student, I recognise that teaching is most effective when tailored towards the individual’s needs and learning styles. I also understand that the classroom environment can sometimes be overwhelming, particularly when you feel like you’re just not quite getting it! Thus as a private tutor I strive to create a personalised service for every student, by defining clear goals, creating well-structured lesson plans and importantly, adapting my teaching methods depending on the student. My lessons provide students with a safe and comfortable space to ask questions, gain clarification and confidence in defined topics and exam technique, thus helping to achieve their goals.
