On 30 June, our swimmers from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 took part in an exciting gala against the boys from Davenies School. The atmosphere was incredible, with all swimmers enthusiastically and loudly cheering on their teammates and parents providing fantastic support throughout, creating a truly encouraging and spirited environment. This was the last swimming gala for Year 6 High March Swimmers, making this a very special occasion for them.
Year 3 swimmers demonstrated clear development, showing improved technique, growing confidence and maturity in their races—particularly in areas we have been focusing on in Swim Squad practice. Year 4 delivered an outstanding performance, dominating the butterfly events and maintaining strong positioning across all strokes. Year 5 were exceptional, rising to the challenge of competing against particularly strong opponents and showing resilience throughout their races. Year 6 truly went above and beyond; their effort and team spirit were remarkable, with one swimmer even competing bravely despite a minor head injury.
The overall result was incredibly close, with us narrowly missing victory by just one point—for the second year in a row. While we are naturally disappointed, we are equally proud of the team’s effort and determination. This experience has only strengthened our resolve: HM swimmers are ready to continue working hard, training with focus and commitment over the next year and returning stronger than ever. 🏊‍♀️🥇🥈🥉

🌹Rose Day 2026 🌹

The pink, red and white took over High March once more for our Rose House day, raising money for Born Free Foundation and Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. The Rose House Captain’s organised the day brilliantly, running a number of games and competitions for the girls to take part in. The cupcakes were flowing at Upper School and everyone had a fantastic day! Well done, girls - a massive £566 donated for some very worthwhile causes!

🟣🔵IAPS National Swimming Finals🔵🟣

In one of the most competitive events in the prep school calendar, over 4,000 swimmers took part in qualifying galas across the country and only the fastest 20 in each event earned a place at the finals. We were delighted to have one Year 5 medley relay team and two Year 5 individual swimmers qualify—an outstanding achievement in itself.
The relay team delivered an exceptional performance, finishing in 4th place while achieving an impressive personal best, dropping their time from 1:17 to 1:12. Their teamwork, determination and ability to rise to the occasion were clear to see, and they represented High March with great pride.

Our individual swimmers also produced superb performances across both the heats and finals. In the Year 5 50m Butterfly, our swimmer achieved a fantastic personal best in the heats, improving from 39.68 to 36.49 to secure a place in the finals, before going even faster again with an outstanding 35.53 to finish 4th overall in the country. Similarly, in the Year 5 50m Breaststroke, our swimmer showed tremendous progress, reducing her time from 46.34 to 44.90 in the heats to qualify for the finals, and then improving further to 44.26 to finish 8th nationally. To achieve multiple personal bests on such a big stage shows their hard work, commitment and resilience. We are incredibly proud of all our High March swimmers—their performances were inspiring! 🙌🏊‍♀️
