Having not done any wood work since school I decided to make myself a folding buck saw. This was a great success. Following this I had desires on a campaign chair, so in March 2012 I bought a lathe. And I found that I could create beautiful things. Oh and one day I will finally get the time to finish the chair

Now we’re in August and the nights are drawing in. It was time for Jarvis to sort out the solar lights for the greenhouse. A bracket for the solar panel that clips straight onto the frame and 2 types of brackets to hang the bulbs off.

Big job on for Jarvis this week. We installed a second fridge in the van. And why do you need 2 fridges in the van I hear you ask.
Well the fridge that came with the van is a uk fridge and can cool at 20 degrees below the ambient temperature. That means if it’s 30 degrees outside it’s 10 degrees in the fridge. So you end up with food spoiling and warm beer. Nobody wants warm beer. Also the fridge is extremely small.
After choosing a fridge that would actually work when it’s warm. I had room for to put a small drawer under it. I told Jarvis what I needed and he cracked on and made me all these parts

Tx60 socket and plug
Draw handle
Router template
Edge banding tool
Vent grill
Gasket for the cable
Feet inserts to stop the fridge sliding

I think he did an excellent job. And now I can have an ice cold beer, even on a hot day

A bit of Sunday silliness, Jarvis has been making a few beer related things. Firstly is a bottle opener that fires off the bottle cap in a random direction. Unfortunately it only works with German bottles. He then moved onto stylish beer hats to keep the insects out of your beer. And finally he decided to update one of the bottle cap boards with the brewery logo. I’ve asked him if he can re do the board as it’s just not quite right yet.

A friend ask me if I could print some things out for shotgun reloading. The first one was easy just a tray to put the shells in whilst reloading. The next was a little more difficult complex. A fully 3D printed crimp roll clamp for different gauges. Me and Jarvis got our heads together and came up with this. Works a treat

The workshop draws are a real mess, take a look at the first photo. This is my fastenings draw. I was chatting with Jarvis again, we have a lot of chats. And he started to tell me about Gridfinity. Now Gridfinity comes with a warning, it’s highly addictive, a bit like the crack of the 3D Printing world.
Nevertheless I gave it a go, and it’s certainly sorted out my fastenings draw. It did take a long time to decide on a design and print it all out. Now do I go cold turkey and walk away, or do I carry on and do the rest of the draws. Where do you stop 😂

I asked Jarvis if he could come up with any prints for my motorbike. He told me he’d have to use the finest ASA as it strong UV and heat resistant. I told him this was fine and to just do his thing. This is what he came up with. A lovely wheel b**g for the single sided swing arm. A pair of slider for the lower crash bars , but I expect these are more bling than practical. And a steady for the 360 camera. He’s done well.

I had a request to make some ammo storage boxes this week. I passed this down the management structure. And Jarvis executed his duties perfectly. He’s a great worker, but don’t tell him I said so. It’ll go straight to his head and I’ll never hear the last of it. Printed in Petg olive green and oak.
