🏆 School Games Platinum Award 🏆

For the fourth consecutive year, St Patrick's Catholic Primary Academy has been awarded the prestigious School Games Platinum Award in recognition of the outstanding physical education, school sport and sporting opportunities we provide for all of our pupils.

We are incredibly proud to be one of only a small number of schools in North Kirklees to achieve this remarkable accolade.

This has been another exceptional year for sport at St Patrick's. Our pupils have enjoyed tremendous success in competitions and we have continued to increase the number of children taking part in school sports teams and proudly representing our school.

A huge congratulations to all of our pupils for your enthusiasm, commitment and dedication. Your hard work, teamwork and determination continue to make us incredibly proud.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to our parents and families for your ongoing support. From transporting children to fixtures and competitions to cheering them on from the sidelines, your encouragement makes these opportunities possible.

Huge well done to our Year 5 boys, who played in a friendly football match against Holy Spirit this afternoon!

The boys were outstanding in very warm conditions, showing fantastic resilience, determination and teamwork throughout the game. Their positive attitude and effort never dropped and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.

🏐 What a fantastic afternoon for our Year 5/6 pupils! 🏐

Today, 8 of our Year 5/6 children attended a Netball Festival at Batley Sports Centre, where they had the opportunity to learn, practise and develop their netball skills alongside pupils from other schools.

The children showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination throughout the day as they took part in a variety of activities and games. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they challenged themselves and supported one another.

A huge well done to all the pupils involved – you represented our school brilliantly and should be very proud of yourselves! 🌟👏

🏏👏 WELL DONE YEAR 5/6 CRICKET TEAM 👏🏏

A huge congratulations to our fantastic Year 5/6 Cricket Team who qualified for and competed in the Batley and Dewsbury Cricket Finals today! 🌟

The competition was incredibly tough, but the team showed amazing resilience, determination and teamwork throughout the day, giving absolutely everything in every match! 💪🏏

Just qualifying for the finals was a fantastic achievement in itself and the children should be so proud of what they accomplished.

Finishing in 6th place against some very strong teams is an incredible effort – well done everyone! 👏⭐

You represented our school brilliantly and showed fantastic sportsmanship all day. We are so proud of you all! ☘️

🏆⚽ YEAR 5/6 GIRLS FOOTBALL – BPS TRUST CHAMPIONS ⚽🏆

What a night for our incredible Year 5/6 Girls Football Team! 💚

Going into the tournament two players down due to sickness, the girls showed unbelievable resilience, determination and teamwork from start to finish.

They began with a tense 0-0 draw against Holy Spirit before coming back stronger than ever to face St Joseph’s Halifax, producing an incredible performance to win 5-2! 🔥⚽

Next up was St Patrick’s Hudds, where the girls defended brilliantly and battled hard for a fantastic 1-0 victory. 👏

Then onto St Joseph’s Brighouse. Having already played three games in a row with no substitutes, the girls dug deep, refused to give up and secured an amazing 2-1 win! 💪⚽

Finishing the tournament with 3 wins, 1 draw and 10 points overall, the girls were joint top with St Joseph’s Brighouse. In an incredibly tight finish, our girls were crowned champions with an outstanding +5 goal difference! 🏆

CHAMPIONS OF THE BPS GIRLS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! ⭐

A huge well done to every single player – you were all superstars and represented our school brilliantly.
Special mentions to our fantastic captain Charlotte, who rallied the team throughout the tournament, and to Millie, who played her final football match for St Patrick’s tonight – you have been amazing! 💙

St Patrick’s 2–3 Howard Park ⚽️

What an exciting and memorable quarter-final match this afternoon for our Year 5/6 Girls Spen Valley Football Team! 💚

The girls were tested early on as Howard Park came out quickly, scoring three goals in the first half. However, after an encouraging half-time team talk, the girls showed incredible resilience, determination and teamwork as they battled for every ball in pursuit of a place in the semi-finals.

St Patrick’s came out fighting in the second half, mounting a brilliant attack to score an early goal before finding the net again to set up a truly nail-biting finish! The girls won the second half 2–0 and worked tirelessly to keep Howard Park out, showing fantastic spirit and commitment right until the final whistle.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be this time, but what a season these girls have had! 🌟 They are the first St Patrick’s girls team ever to reach the Quarter Finals of the competition and we are incredibly proud of every single one of them and all they have achieved.

Well done girls — you have represented St Patrick’s with pride, passion and determination all season long! 👏⚽️💚

⚽️St Patrick’s 0–1 Bywell ⚽️

An incredibly tense quarter-final this afternoon for our Year 5/6 Spen Valley Football Team against Bywell Primary School.

This group have worked tremendously hard with Coach Tom since September, playing exciting football throughout the competition and making Coach Tom, Mrs Abbott and all the parents extremely proud every step of the way. 💚

The first half was fast-paced and brilliantly managed by St Pats, with the team on the front foot, battling for every ball and giving absolutely everything for the badge. The second half continued at an intense pace and the team worked tirelessly together to defend strongly and push for the goal they so deserved.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be this afternoon but we are immensely proud of everything the team has achieved in this year’s Spen Valley competition as they bow out graciously. Their teamwork, determination, resilience and sportsmanship have been outstanding. 👏

A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils - Albie and Orton as they played their final match for St Patrick’s. Thank you also to Alfie and Frank who have played such a huge part in the team’s success this year. 💫

A huge thank you to Coach Tom for all your help and support this year - it's always invaluable!

And the future is certainly bright, with exciting things to come next year for Seb, Luca, Zach, Charlotte, Nancy and Tom! 🌟

🎉 A Huge Thank You to Our Sports Kit Heroes! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that our brand new school sports kits have arrived – and it’s all thanks to the incredible generosity of Bear Cricket Ltd🏏✨

Bear Cricket have kindly sponsored 16 kits for our KS1 and KS2 children to wear with pride across a variety of sporting events. A massive shoutout to Varvara from Year 3 for her fantastic kit design – it looks amazing! 👏🎨

A huge well done to our Year 5/6 representatives who took part in a rounders training session this afternoon, led by the North Kirklees School Sports Partnership at Batley Sports Centre.

The girls showed fantastic enthusiasm throughout the session and worked incredibly hard to develop their striking and fielding skills. It was great to see their confidence grow as they took on new challenges and supported one another.

We are very proud of their effort, attitude and teamwork – a brilliant representation of our school! 🌟👏
