Here at The Ark Pre-school we provide a safe environment for children to play, learn and grow. We pride ourselves on promoting independence and school readiness whilst encouraging character building and emotional well-being.

We have places available now for funded and fee paying children.

Thanks to your generosity we have managed to raise a fantastic £140 🤩

Today we held a pyjama day fundraiser 💷

We are running an Easter raffle until Friday 22nd March to add more to our fundraising for new resources.
Tickets are £1 a strip and alongside this Easter basket and eggs kindly donated by parents there will be some extra prizes up for grabs.

Thanks to all parents/carers who donated and bought raffle tickets today, we appreciate it greatly!

🚒🧯 The fire engine came to visit today ❗️

We had some special visitors this morning at The Ark. To further our learning about people who help us we organised a visit from our local fire service. Our children had a range of emotions regarding the fire engine and firemen but overall it was a lovely, informative session.
What did our little firefighters have to tell you about the session this morning?

World Book Day 2024 📚

We’ve had a fantastic day celebrating our love of books! Our children loved sharing stories based on what they were dressed up as, having conversations about different characters and their likes & dislikes.

We have been so busy learning and having fun this term! We continued learning about people who help us; taking on roles and gaining new knowledge and vocabulary.
Our children have been chefs, hairdressers, farmers, emergency service workers and much more. The imagination and creativity they have put into activities and play has been amazing.
We have enjoyed pancake day and even got to go out in the snow!
We have used a range of learning techniques to ensure the children are building up skills across all areas whilst learning about our topic.
It has been a fantastic term so far, we’re excited to continue our learning and see what ideas the children come up with!

This term we are learning about people who help us. We’ve had a great start this week, seeing what the children already know and building on their knowledge.
Our children have used their creative and imaginative skills to be builders, painters and sort people to their jobs.
Using their gross and fine motor skills the children painted different shapes to create a background to display their work.
Through role play activities we will create opportunities for our children to learn more about the many people who help us day to day.
Whilst out in the environment and watching tv could you and your child/ren talk about people you may see who help us? This helps with our daily discussions at together time 🌈

The children have been extremely inquisitive with the road works happening outside preschool.
We have used their interest in this to plan activities to increase the children’s knowledge and learn about safety.

Our children have been asking lots of questions, sharing their ideas, role playing and telling their own stories about diggers and building. These characteristics of effective learning aid development and play.

Can your child/ren tell you about what the diggers have been doing? 🌈
