🌊🏖️B E A C H D A Y 🏖️🌊

Taking the children to the beach is so much more than just fun! Splashing, digging and collecting shells helps them grow and learn in so many ways:

☀️Emotional wellbeing – fresh air, open space & being by water calms minds, reduces stress & boosts happiness, I know I had just as much fun as the children 🥰

☀️Social skills – playing together, sharing tools, helping each other & chatting builds teamwork & confidence.

☀️ Sensory play – feeling cold water on our feet (and bums 🙈😂), soft/wet sand & different textured shells boosts brain development.

Nature is the best classroom 😊
So lucky to have my job and my little team 🥰 thank you Cherry Tree Childcare for joining us on a fun day.

📚B O O K B U G W E E K 📚

We’ve loved celebrating Bookbug Week together! 📚🎶

Listening to stories and singing songs together is such an important part of children’s learning and development, helping to build language, confidence and connection.

This week so far we have enjoyed taking Bookbug outdoors into the woods, making the most of stories and songs in nature. Today we visited a new Bookbug group and even learned a couple of new rhythms along the way!

What a lovely week so far of stories, music and shared experiences 🥰

Happy Childminding Week!

No two days are ever the same in childminding. one day we can be exploring the woods, to having picnics with friends and enjoying BookBug in the park, to making playdough. Always creating memories together.

I truly love what I do and feel so lucky to be part of these little adventures every day 🥰

What a fun morning had by all. Was lovely having the staff member helping identify the newts and explaining the difference between the males and females. Not sure who had more fun, the older children, the younger ones or us big kids lol.

This week for World Earth Day we have been enjoying lots of lovely outdoor adventures 🌍🍃

We visited our local country park where the children spent time exploring nature, looking for new flowers beginning to bloom and searching for mini beasts hiding in the grass and under leaves. We talked about why insects and bugs are so important for our environment and how they help nature grow.

On another day, we visited a different local park and focused on using our 5 senses. We sat by the pond and drew what we could see, including ducks, tiny ducklings and squirrels in the trees. We lay on the grass and relaxed while listening to the birds singing around us. The children enjoyed collecting natural objects and comparing how they felt. We talked about different textures, noticing that a feather was soft and fluffy, while tree bark felt rough and bumpy. We finished our morning with a healthy snack and a chatted about what animals in the woods might eat.

A wonderful week of outdoor learning, fresh air and exploring the world around us 🌳🪲🐞🦆

What a lovely week we’ve had! 🐑🌼

We enjoyed a trip to the farm where the children got to pet the lambs and see the chicks and horses. The piglets were having a well-earned nap 🐖💤. We also had lots of fun riding around on the tractors and jumping in the straw.

We explored a new soft play, which was a big hit! Discovered a lovely little park with a stream running through it, the children had a wonderful time choosing stones, making wishes and throwing them into the water 💫

We’ve balanced all the excitement with some quieter moments too, relaxing in the playroom, colouring in and exploring the new resources that have been set out.

Just want to write a little appreciation post to my own girls and to all kids of childminders who share their parents and their home. During the holidays I am so grateful that my girls are happy to come out with us. They were so excited to be going to almond valley today. My youngest was on the little red buggy ride several times taking the children down and she didn’t complain. They help push swings, hold hands and play games. They help the holidays run smoothly and i and the children love spending the time with them. My oldest even had a cup of tea waiting for me when I finished today 💖.
