sheephouse nursery Small but perfectly formed nursery & out of school club for children aged 3 months - 12 years.

Graded 'very good' in all areas by the Care Inspectorate, we’ve got room for up to 43 children at any one time which means that all our team know each child by name, how they like to spend their days and what makes them laugh! We’re all about family so where children have other siblings in the nursery, we like to bring them together where we can – whether that’s for lunch, a walk in the forest or

to play in the garden. Outside, we like to make the best of our garden come rain, shine or West Lothian snow! We like adventure so you’ll find us building dens, exploring leaves, twigs and bugs, visiting the chickens, having tea parties and growing lunch on our allotments and in the greenhouse. We like to get out and about in the community so you’ll find us at the library, talking walks around the village and playing hide and seek and having picnics in the forest. You’ll also see us take part in the local Gala Day and we do like a party to celebrate special occasions with our friends and families. Happy Friday everyone!

One more day till our open day!

Pop in on Saturday between 10am and 12noon. Have a look around our play spaces, meet our fab'ewe'lous team and hear how we deliver care, The Sheephouse Way.

There will also be an opportunity to make some Easter crafts to take away with you, play in our mud kitchen and try your hand at some clay sculpting in our baa'rn.

Remember we have funded E2 and 3-5 places available from August. We offer these over a range of flexible sessions.

Are you looking for an eligible 2, ante-pre or preschool place for your child?

We have places available from August.

Why not pop in to our open day on Saturday 28th March between 10am and 12pm.

You can have a look around Sheephouse, meet with our fab'ewe'lous team, hear about our approach and discover for yourself what makes us a baa'rilliant little setting.

We'll also have some fun Easter opportunities and take-home activities going on.

At Sheephouse, we are super fortunate to have a fantastic team, the majority of whom have been with us for more years than our vanity would like to admit.

We pride ourselves on having created a culture which allows our team to flourish in their careers, growing their knowledge alongside our children.

We really do have something very special and it is a privilege to work alongside each other each and every day.

Each year, we hold a team development day which offers a new insight or a refresh into areas of our day to day practice. This year we were spent the day with Pamela from and took a deep dive into play theorists including Piaget, Vygotsky and Froebel, looking at how they inform 'why' we do things the way that we do for our children.

It was a baa'rilliant, enriching and enlightening day, complete with a lot of every present Sheephouse hilarity. Here's a small insight. 🧡🐑
