Desyree's Little Butterflies Childminding Service Care Inspectorate approved childminder Hi my name is Desyree Smalley, Welcome to Desyree's Little Butterflies childminding service.

I am a registered and Care Inspectorate approved Childminder based in Fauldhouse. I also offer childcare to those who live in Longridge, Whitburn and other surrounding areas but i only offer drop off and collection services from St John the Baptist Primary/ Nursery. I can offer these services at other local nurseries/ Playgroups depending on drop off and collection times. I offer childcare to chil

dren of all ages from 0-12 years old. I have full days/ half days available. I have many years experience working with children. I have worked in a number of different nurseries/ play groups and after school clubs. Before becoming a childminder i was a swimming Teacher for 6 years, teaching children from ages 6 months onwards how to swim. I have now been a childminder for over 5 years and personally, i think its the best job in the entire world. Helping your little ones learn and thrive is the most rewarding feeling and it is a privilege to be apart of their learning journey. Here at Desyree's Little Butterflies your children will be involved in a variety of activities through out each day, they will take part in baby/ toddler groups, book bug sessions, music classes and more. We also take weekly trips to the soft play, play parks, Almond valley farm and more. Every child's learning experience is different, I will provide a variety of learning resources and activities that suit your child's individual needs. Children learn best from playing and having fun and i aim to make every child's learning experience joyful for them. Encouraging your child to make their own choices and boosting their independence. I provide a safe, fun and educational environment for your children to play, thrive and learn, easing the transition back to parents at the end of each day.

💔 Standing Together for Childminders 💔

I was really saddened to see a fellow childminder being publicly criticised online by another education professional. With thousands of followers, she chose to share a simple mistake to the world instead of addressing it privately.

People need to realise that childminders are lone workers. We don’t have employers to protect us or teammates to lean on. We juggle so many roles every single day—educator, carer, accountant, marketer, cook, cleaner, and more. We often work long hours without breaks, and we do it because we LOVE our job and the children in our care.

Where has the motto of “Be Kind” gone?

We just want to say to our fellow childminders: you are not alone. 💚 If you ever need support, encouragement, or just someone to talk to, please drop us a message. We stand with you.
