Hi guys and gals,
Ted will be at the Bathgate market tomorrow (Saturday) with tickets to our big hall reunion disco.
Just a wee bit of information about this event, the music that will be played on the evening will be 70’s music right up to 1981.
Even if you didn’t go to the centre disco’s that much back then but you still enjoy the music from that era, come and get your tickets.
All proceeds are going to the FAB club for children and youth with disabilities. So, you’ll be supporting a great cause.
I started dj-ing in the centre in September 1977 up till 1981 with other youths like Wee Dot, Susan Martin, Anna, Joe Carlin, then came Scot and Tommy, Renton and Gary Skene. Most seen this as a fad and stopped. Gary and I went back at the end of 1982 till the summer of 1983, Gary went off to dj La Srada and I went to the Palis before joining the Magic Roundabout with Douglas Croft. Gary Joined the Magic Roundabout in late 84 and we both made a career out of dj-ing for many, many years.
In fact, I am still dj-ing the occasional oldies nights and private functions that I get asked to do.
When big John and I had a chat at the market a couple of months ago, we spoke about doing another reunion because it’s 7 years since we did one.
We both felt the time was right to do another this year because we don’t want people to forget about the old lady who was the Bathgate Centre.
Nostalgia and bringing back our old memories of the big hall discos was at the forefront of our conversation and helping to raise much needed funds for the FAB club Which big John is an active member of and is one of that charities trustees.
For both of us it was a no brainier to organise.
We would love for you to come and join us on the night ( Saturday 17 October ) in the Bathgate Legion.
The Legion is booked, the disco is ready to be set up on the stage, all we are looking for is for you to purchase your tickets at only £6 each and join us to bring back the memories of the big hall discos from our youth.
As I said earlier, I will be at Bathgate market tomorrow at the charity memorabilia stall with the tickets.
Please pop down and get yours before they sell out completely. They are selling really well just now but, the well Kent faces of back in the day don’t all have their tickets yet and I would hate to tell them that it’s sold out when they try to purchase them later in the summer.
Thank you for reading all of this information.
Ted McMillan,
Centre DJ.
