Silver DofE Qualifying Expedition - A huge well done to the 59 Yr11 students from Beechen Cliff and St Marks who successfully passed their Qualifying expedition at the weekend in the Brecon Beacons. Groups covered 55km over the 3 days. Day 1 was a waterfall walk, ending with a camp at the school bunkhouse. Despite very wet conditions the boys managed incredibly well and were rewarded with some sunshine and dry conditions on night 2, when they wild camped. On day 3 they climbed to over 800m and enjoyed some spectacular views. The boys represented themselves and the school very well, they were polite, respectful and fun to be with. Thank you to the team of staff that made this expedition possible, Mr Bain, Mr Stegall, Miss Sinclair, Mr Quirk, Mrs Townsend, Anya, Harry, Theo and Julia.

Solution Focused Schools Gathering - Hosted by Solution Focused in Organisations (www.sfio.org) at Beechen Cliff School
What happens when wellbeing isn’t another school initiative, but becomes part of the way a school works?

🗓️ Save the date: 9 & 10 April 2027.

We’ll be gathering at Beechen Cliff School in Bath with school and trust leaders, governors, policymakers and practitioners to explore that question—and consider what might work in their own contexts.

Find out more and hear staff and pupils sharing Beechen Cliff’s experience:

https://www.sfio.org/event/2027-schools-gathering/

Drawing on eight years of practical experience at Beechen Cliff, and learning from other schools, this will be a working gathering rather than a traditional conference. Together, we’ll explore how a culture of wellbeing can strengthen attendance, inclusion, behaviour, relationships, staff retention, engagement in learning and support for pupils with SEN.

How can we create school cultures where people have the opportunity to do well, feel well and contribute well?

Beechen Cliff students have celebrated another fantastic set of GCSE results today! 87% of grades achieved were grades 9 to 4 and 37% were grades 9 to 7, well above the national average for England this year. 👏 Our students are now moving onto Sixth Form, college, apprenticeships and some professional sports contracts. We wish them all the very best with the next steps. We are incredibly proud of our pupil’s achievements which are the culmination of a lot of hard work, particularly over the last year, and they are thoroughly deserved. Enjoy celebrating 🥳

Congratulations to our students on an excellent set of A Level results. This is testament to their hard work and commitment and they thoroughly deserve their success.

With 60% of A Level grades at A*-B and 85% at A*-C, and an average grade of a Distinction in vocational qualifications students have set themselves up for university, apprenticeships and employment.

We are really proud of them all and wish them well for their next steps and the future.

What an incredible year it has been for our school community. While teaching and learning are always at our core, we also love to balance this with an incredible range of extra-curricular experiences for everyone. It is wonderful to see a whole year of memories packed into one reel! A massive THANK YOU to our dedicated staff who work so hard all year. We wish all of our students and families a very happy summer! Drop a ❤️ if you spot yourself in the video! beechencliff
